Is the GS24 down in a black hole?

Just curious if anyone can share any information on the GS24. Basically since it's introduction, there has been no information on the forum about the boat, positive or negitive.
Did anyone see the GS24 at any trade shows this past month? Has anyone surfed or wakeboarded behind one? How does it compare to GS22? Is Nautique going to cease production on this boat for lack of sales?

I was at the Utah Boat Show and the Nautique rep was there. He said the sweet spot was the GS22 in the GS series. The GS24 obviously will give you more room but not as good of a ski wake and not significantly better wave and wake. On the GS side there were a few people touting how good the GS series compared to trying to do the all around with the G. Besides that no personal experience, yet.

Well yea. Trying to do everything with a G is silly. The G is primarily a wakeboard boat. It also surfs really good but nobody would really slalom behind one.

And this is where your wrong! I just ordered an 18 G23 due to the slalom wave being better then other brands in its class IMO! I primarily slalom and occasionally surf as surfing is my wifes preference and another reason we have chosen the G23. At 130k + my boat should be able to do any water sport my heart desires and then some!

Please. Just stop. The G23 (and the G21 and the G25 for that matter) are not at all slalom boats. Sure, it might be "better that other brands in it's class," but makes about as much sense as saying the "Toyota Prius is the best sports car... in its class."

I know you want to believe that since you spent $130K it "should be able to do any water sport my heart desires and then some" but that simply isn't remotely realistic. There's no such thing from Nautique or any other boat manufacturer. The requirements for the hull shape, length, and overall weight make it impossible. Nautique developed the GS line of boats to do the best they could do across all 3 activities. They still carry the 200 xB to cover the dedicated slalom skiers.

One of my buddies is a very good slalom skier and summer before last he decided to give my neighbor's G23 a try. He pulled up beside the wake and just laughed. If you primarily slalom, you're going to quickly tire of crossing that wake. The G23 was designed from the ground up to be the best wakeboard boat on the market. I believe they pretty much succeeded here. There was no, none, zero consideration given to the slalom skiers. As I said above, there are other boats in the line to cover that use case.

I have a G23 and I will say the boat is terrible and a joke for slalom skiing. I grew up slalom skiing on the course and free skiing throughout most of my life and have been behind countless direct drive and v-drives boats, and the G23 hands down has one of the worst wakes for slalom skiing. Please note this is coming from a G23 owner.

How did this thread turn into an argument about the G23 slalom wake? It's all relative. Pick your analogy. Sure you could surf behind my old 210 but it sucked compared to my G23.

I'd like to hear more about owners with personal experience with the GS24 as well.

blueroom, with all due respect that video shows a person riding a slalom ski very cautiously. Not exactly slalom skiing, as in proceeding across the wake as fast as possible while linking turns rapidly to maneuver around 6 turn buoys. I am sure a small minority of slalom enthusiasts would agree with you. Each boat that Nautique produces has its own characteristics. Unfortunately compromises are made. In short NO v drive will ever be used at an AWSA tournament (unless designated as an F tournament) F is for fun.

I agree Kamyotte, I started this thread but went way off track when someone mentioned slalom skiing behind a G23 and I could not resist piping in. What a laughable joke, is all I can say. When I tried slalom skiing for the first time behind my new G23 last year, I told my wife to stop the boat because I had to add another 15 feet of line to keep the rooster tail from hitting me in the face. Slalom skiing behind a G23 is utter nonsense.

I suppose some have a different definition of slalom skiing? Free skiers tooling around a lake probably don't have first hand experience of skiing a course under tournament conditions. After tournament skiing for 15 years at Okeeheelee I would never dream of slalom skiing behind my G. But I could see some cruising around on a slalom ski behind a G. But let's not kid ourselves...That ain't slalom skiing!

Gml my bad for stating my opinion on the slalom wake of the G23 when @charles made an assumption on apparently something he has never experienced himself. Oh ye his friends have told him it won't ski! Again never said it was intended for DD competition slalom wakes!

Now as far as your ski ability my hats off to you for being a slalom pro. I on the other hand am just an avid open water skier who loves to cross the wake as fast as possible to the best of my ability. I too have skied for years and have never felt the need to run buoys as I have nothing to prove. I've owned a DD and loved it for what it was but it just doesn't fit the bill with a family.

Nowhere in my statement to defend the G23 did I state it being a slalom course boat, just simply stated the slalom wake to me is just fine and I do ski 15 off with no issues. I never intended to take away from your thread with my simple statement to show my personal liking of the G23 wake it produces in all categories. So carry on with your GS24 thread and again my apologies for stating my likes/dislikes and then having supposed grown adults attack me for my opinion!

Thanks Green , I understand your viewpoint.
Hopefully we can get some info on the GS24 since there is little to no information or reviews about the boat anywhere other than the Nautique website
