    Some help please!

Looking at a nice 99 air nautique. Was wondering how the boat performs and if you guys can tell me the pros and cons.
Just over 700 hrs. and that seems good. Any info would be great. Great family boat for all kinds of FUN?

Great boats for a family wanting to get on the water without breaking the bank! I had a 98 Air Nautique for a year or so before I bought my SAN. I’m assuming it has the GT40 motor and those are great! 700 hrs is just getting broke in as long as you do the normal maintenance. Post up some pictures if you’ve got them so we can see what you’re working with! Maybe something will jump out to us to watch for. We really just want to admire though

If you are mostly expecting wake sports and have a bit more budget I’d look for a super air vdrive.
I had the air first and regretted not buying a vdrive. Cost difference was about $5k.
It is quieter and with more useable interior space and better wake / wave by a lot.
And more solid feeling as it is a bit bigger and heavier.
The ski wake on my air nautique never approached my ski nautique. Or even skit tique. The air was much bigger. Not worth trying to ski behind it in my opinion.

          Cons:
Vdrive is harder to work on. And pricier.

Still air is a great boat and I was very happy to be able to buy one.

So then would a sport be better? We would like to be able to do all water activities.

The sport and air are the same boat. The Air is just a sport with Ballast and tower.

What's your budget like? How far are you wanting to travel? There's been a few really nice boats out there for sale right now depending on how far you want to travel.

So, that's the only difference between a 99 air and sport is the ballast and tower. Then the air would work better because it's more versatile?

Lots of sports turned in to airs by adding towers and ballast.
And super sports turned in to super air nautiques.
You can read about the differences in the hills on correctcraftfan.com or here.
The TSC hulls and sport / super airs are different. Forget how.

Was wondering if all air 99's had the wake tower included or was it an option?
Also, what year did correct craft start with the pivot tongue on their trailers?

I believe all Airs had towers. The Tower (and ballast) are what made them Airs. Without that they were just sports.

That said it's always possible someone could've ordered one special with no tower but that would've been very unusual.

If you mean the swing up tongue, I have a '96 with that tongue. Also around 1996 correct Craft stopped making trailers. Ramlin took over making the old CC design and other manufacturers also started being used.

                            Thanks!

One of the boats I'm looking at does not have a tower but the tow pole has a small extension.

I know the Air Tique came with that pylon, the Air Tique was a version of the 176, a 17.6ft closed bow Ski Nautique.

Is the boat a 21ft open bow?
