How many people invest in tower lights and when do you actually use them? It's my understanding, while as cool looking as they are, some of them are extremely expensive and are only allowed to be used during docking and loading onto the trailer.

Its against the law to ski or ride behind a boat 30 before sundown and 30 minutes after sun up in Texas so I dont see a need for them

I think the average person would look at it as a showy thing because not many people use them. It all depends on what you get them for. If you ski during the day and the only time your boat has seen night was when it wasn't moving and you have lights, they are obviously pointless and are just there to get attention. However, if you are the guy who likes to use your nautique 24/7 and driving at night is half the fun, then they kill two birds with one stone, showy during the day, and valuable during the night...I'm personally the guy who thinks driving at night is half the fun...Afterall...you did spend money on them, so they have to have some value...I Nautique, therefore I am.

I've got some and I've been happy with them. They work great for late night surfing sessions where you don't need to see very far off the back of the boat. They also work really well for docking/trailering after dark. I've never actually used mine for boarding after dark as I don't really think they would provide enough light. Another draw back is they seem to really draw bugs as you approach shore.

BUDDA is my light.
i use a spot light to pick out navigation markers when i'm out on BIG unknown water at night. it would be tough to do that with tower lights. i see much better at night with no light. go figure.
when it's real dark (ie no moon), i'll hit the unlock button on the remote for the truck. the cargo/bed light is enough to see the shore line.red right return
