210 (2009) Vs 230 (2015) wake. whats the noticable difference for wakeboarding?

I don't think it's much of a size issue as it is a shape issue. 210s are notoriously steep where as the 230s seem to provide longer transitions. Both great, but more of a preference thing, at least in my experience behind both.

The beam is 2" wider on a 230. Does that mean it'll put out a wider wake than the 210? Not sure if the wakes width is related to the beam width. I like the narrowness of my 210 and am looking at a 230, but don't want a wider wake than what I'm used to.

I have ridden both extensively as I owned a 210, and my buddy owned a 230. I would say the 230 wake is definitely wider...But it is also bigger so clearing it is no problem. But be reminded that the bigger boats 230, g series etc are more finicky to get a clean wake compared to the 210. Bigger boats wash out somewhat easier with wind, and lake traffic, and are somewhat more difficult to clean up at lower speeds. Great boat but there will be trade off's to get the bigger wake and more space the 230 provides.

Depends on what your level of riding is, how much weight you think you're going to run, and what speed you're going to run. without that info you're grasping at straws. The redesign of the 210 hull in 07 and then the slight tweak in 14 no longer carries that wicked steepness. It's very solid predictable wake.


Factory ballast to factory ballast 210 all day long will give you better wake, 20-24mph sweet spots. Start adding a piggy back kit to the rears and front of both boats. 210 still runs in that same 20-24mph range. The 230 is going to need to be ridden a bit faster in 22mph range. Go crazy sac it out to max 210 will still be able to run 22.5mph, the 230 will need to be in the 24mph range.


as far as the wake itself. 230 has a bit longer tansitition, little peakier top and little wider landing zone when weighted up. Factory ballast to factory ballast very subtle difference that most won't notice.

i like the 210 wake that my boat has (2009 model). i have all 3 ballasts piggy backed and i ride 65' at 21.5mph. Im 41 years young and dont see myself ever riding like i did 10 years ago. The wake is fine for my level (1 invert) and i mostly pull kids these days.

Theres a newer 230 for sale in my area that had my eye. I dont want any wider of a wake. Sounds like i need to find newer 210 or just keep mine.

With that setup and speed I don't know you're gaining anything going to a 230 except space .
