Stereo & Ballast Questions

Hi!

We don't live near a Nautique dealer and hope we can receive some answers here to a few issues we're having with our 2014 Super Air G21.


1- Our boat doesn't always ride level. We "upgraded" to this boat because we wanted a level ride instead of being weighted down with fat sacks and leaning to one side. What's strange is that it doesn't ride level when we are just cruising with ballasts empty. Husband is 50 lbs heavier than I; typically he's driving when cruising. Could that amount of weight cause the imbalance? In order to ride level, we fill a fat sack in the port side, stern locker.

When wake surfing w/ some ballasts filled at various levels, it rides level.

Any one have this issue? Any suggestions? Someone mentioned that possibly our LINC screen isn't showing accurate readings and maybe the ballast tanks aren't emptying. But how would we know if they are or not?

2- We bought the boat new and toward the end of the first season, the LINC system was freezing, not allowing us to change the music and disengaging the surf system. We couldn't even turn off the boat. The only way to resolve it was to turn off the battery. We had an software update done and then discovered that we no longer had all the control over the music system. Before the update, we could control how much volume would come out of each speaker zone. Now, we have no control other than the overall volume.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

1. Typically it's because of the torque of the prop that will make it lean like this. In my G have added 200 lbs of weight (wake bags) in the storage under the observer seat. This eliminates my lean when cruising (and keeps both surf waves relatively the same).

2. Have heard of this LINC issue from other owners but personally don't know a solution besides the dealer updating software.

I did the same but added 250 lbs ( five 50 lb bags) under observer seat. Fixed the lean problem once and for all

Same here. Lead bags to offset for torque. Screen froze a couple times on our 230. Shutting down and rebooting seemed to clear up. One thing I learn is that it is a computer and shutting down correctly is important. Turn it off then turn power off. Don't just turn off batteries.

We're careful to shut down carefully, but a couple of times when the screen is frozen, turning off power and back on didn't unfreeze the screen.

Are there "levels" of stereo control? It seems I read that this some forum a few months ago but can't find any info about now. (We had more control of the speakers before the software update.)

I would bet that under the dealer settings of your LINC system there is an option for zone control. When you had your software updated, this option wasn't selected again and you lost that functionality. Hopefully your dealer will provide you with the code for your boat to turn that back on.

Our LINC system was completely replaced, and everything seem to work, except the stereo. Because we're far from the dealer, they gave us the code, and the setting was on the wrong stereo; the volume control was restored, but we could no longer control the zones. When we mentioned it to the technician, we were told our system doesn't have zone control....well, that's funny because we were controlling the zones before it was replaced!

It seems as if the version of the software of the software from our original LINC system allowed us to control the zones, and the new one doesn't. I don't really understand it, so don't know if it's the software or a setting. Any suggestions? You think there's an actual setting for zone control that wasn't selected? I called the service manager from the original dealer we bought it from (in another state), and he was completely clueless.
