No one was injured thank God. While driving at Norris this weekend (app 30 mph) I hit a submerged log and damaged the drive shaft, I think the strut, damaged the propeller and tore off the rudder. I also damaged the area around the strut as far as the fiberglass. I can fix everything but the fiberglass. My question is when I have the fiberglass repaired are there certain tolerances for the strut location? The strut is still on the boat, but the back end of the strut was pushed up into the fiberglass. Any help would be much appreciated.

Might want to go over to Correct Craft Fan,more of that type of work goes on there. Here is a recent post on a '97 that had slimier problems. Due to recent photobucket changes, some pictures are missing

I just had some glass repaired on my boat, the guy i used had two newer axis boats come in with the same damage as yours while mine was there, he had them both repaired and gone in less than two weeks, an experienced shop can do it and do it quickly, hope you have insurance because it will not be cheap, they said those boats had about 14K worth of damage each.Originally posted by Ejohnson1990 View PostThank you all! This has helped tremendously.

I had that happen two years ago. State farm covered it the final bill was $4000 the strut needed to be replaced and the fiberglass ground out and refilled along with the rudder block, shaft rudder and transmission coupling. My only claim in 25 years. It depends on how much damage you have. get quotes first then call insurance if it is too expensive.
