Hate to see CC also having such QA issues. After owning multiple Nautique's ('98, '00, '04, '08) w/only problem being a brain box on a '00 Ski Nautique that the factory provided great svc on, I took the plunge into a Mastercraft and still don't have a problem free boat after 50 hours . It's sad that warranties have become so important when considering a new boat.

I must be crazy, but here I thought my Nautique has had FAR better quality than any other boat I've ever owned! I've went from an '86 Sunbird, to an '07 Moomba Mobius LSV, to an '08 Mastercraft XStar, now on a '16 G23. The Nautique's quality has far outperformed any of the others! The Moomba's gel got spider cracked easily, plus nuts and bolts were CONSTANTLY backing out and falling around the hull (half the time I had no clue from where they came)! The Mastercraft's upholstery fell apart fairly easily and they had a known issue with fuel pumps that MC never really resolved other then replacing it with another faulty pump until it was no longer covered under warranty. ALL of them had cup holders that pulled out including my Nautique (none of mine are silicone'd) so I didn't even know they were supposed to be silicone'd in! I thought they were made to take out for easy cleaning. Sure I've had a few small odd and end, nit-picky quirks come about on my G, but heck, I just fix it and go on about my business. Now the catalyst and speaker problems are obvious QC problems that shouldn't have happened and need to be rectified, but these things were just plain unlucky on your behalf as I don't know of many others that have had this issue. And Nautique does have an obvious software issue for interfacing with the Polk head unit that looks like the future fix will be a retrofitted head unit (probably at owner cost). However, I honestly don't think I've ever owned a single thing in my life that has been a flawless product, no matter how much it cost! I feel your pain as I am quick to anger every time I find something like this on anything I own from boat, to car, to truck, to house, etc. But as my dad always taught me growing up, "even you will forget to tighten a nut from time to time".

Installed the catalyst today. Boat runs well and air/fuel ratios are identical side to side. No codes. We fixed the speaker that wasn't working. (A crimp connector had come loose; we tightened and reinstalled). Now I just need to seal/attach my cup holders, and I may be getting close to de-bugging the boat.

FWIW-PCM called me today to apologize; they are pretty horrified. They now are going to test the exhaust both up and downstream as part of their QA/QC (the way the tech and I did).

A few of my cup holders are also not properly mounted, very annoying. There are also other problems with which I have to deal. One might say: the boat floats, could be worse. Nevertheless, I would have expected something more quality. Maybe I should take another brand, I might be satisfied again. Sad.

I ordered some clear marine silicone sealant that was recommended (Boat Life-Life Seal). I'm going to fix this cup holder silliness once and for all...

Nautique president Greg Meloon said in a statement.
“When you’re in or behind a Nautique you expect nothing less than the very best, and you will discover it in every detail of our new 2017 product"

RDT-G23 Good idea, we finish the "details of our new 2017 product" ourselves

I'd prefer not to have gone through this, but I would say to all forum members-my dealer, Nautique and PCM have been very good with "recovery". Likewise, I think all three are mortified with my bumpy road, and are taking steps to insure this silliness doesn't happen to others. That said, the road has been a bit stressful!
