    Top Speed / SN200 / H5

I am at or around sea level and was wondering if anyone knows the top speed of an SN200 with the 5.3l DI engine and a standard/AWSA approved prop. I was hoping someone might have actually measured with GPS and knows the answer. Thanks in advance.

Anyone know the answer to this? I would love to know too as I like to barefoot from time to time and it seems the boats are getting slower and slower on the top end. Any SN200 owners left on this forum? Thank you.

My local Nautique dealer told me to expect the 5.3l to go 43 MPH, but a member on Ball of Spray reported he clocked his at 46 MPH. Reports are the 6.2l tops out around 55 MPH! I would love some more data points, however.

Thanks for the reply. If it does hit 55 MPH, that would be incredible!

I was talking with my dealer about the 6.2, and he said the local ski schools he sells to don't want them because they are worried about liability. He also said the acceleration from 30 to 55 was "just plain spooky." I would really love to try one out.

Come on....how can 30 to 55 be "just plain spooky"....LOL. NOW...if it went 0-60 in under 3 seconds....then yeah....maybe. Haven't you ever ridden in a decent 60-70 mph Bass boat of any brand?? That gets a little more "spooky".....lol.....

Actually, my 2nd cousin races 1/4 mile pickle forks/drag boats and I have ridden in his boats, and, yes, that's whole different kind of "spooky." I think the "spooky" references acceleration compared to the stock engine, and how less-experienced drivers might not be ready for the rate of acceleration compared to lessor a equipped boat.

I am probably closing on this H5 boat Tuesday, so I'll run a speed test once things thaw out!
