Sold my 2003 Super Sport this summer with the idea of getting something newer and better. The plan was to try to get into a long term boat but everything changed after I demoed the GS20! I think the GS20 is the perfect boat for us minus one thing.. price. I think the move I'm looking at now is a boat two last 2-3 years and then get a GS20 after it's been on the market for a few years. I almost pulled the trigger on a 2016 210 at a great price but it was still too much of a stretch. Looking for help on a good used boat that would make sense. Intermediate wake boarder and above average skier. Just getting into surfing but want to step that up in a big way. We love to ski but I don't require the perfect wake. I do not want to mess with filling ballast and would piggy back if needed. Trying to keep the price under $50K. Been considering Sport 200, SV-211, 216V and could do another 210. Would prefer Nautique but looking at Mastercraft X2 or X15 as well. Malibu VTX and Supra Sunport have also been condisered. Resale value is a big deal on this next boat as well. Thanks for any suggestions!

You have a pretty broad menu of boats that seem to work for you and you have a lot of time to look over the winter. If I were in your spot and looking for something temporary, I'd just keep my eyes peeled for any one of those boats you mentioned that may have an owner that just wants to get out of it quick. You have a good chance of even making money on it if you buy it right. I'd say you're in a pretty good spot. Be patient, have cash in hand and be ready to move when the right one pops up. Cash talks. Especially right before Christmas. Any time between now and New Year's should produce a good deal. Good luck!

Want my SV211? I'm thinking about going to a G21... I've got it set up with piggy-backs that are perfect when filled for surfing/wakeboarding, Empty will ski quite reasonably. I've got a new stereo in it, and it's about to get seadek. Let me know ifyou're interested.

I went from a 97 supersport to a 2013 Sport 200. I don't wakeboard as much as i used to, we mainly surf and ski. The 200 with factory ballast and an extra 400 sac somewhere in the boat has a great surf wave. I would say its comparable to my old SS. I have seen some videos of guys with the delta and other surf devices and the wave looks equally as good. For slalom i of it. We have a membership on a private lake and my boat has spent a lot of time in the course. I only ski at 15' off @30 but i have friends that are 28' off @34-36 and they don't think there is any difference in the ski wake between the Sport and the DD 200 at 28' off and shorter. We love the boat!

Since you're looking for a gap boat , you'll want to buy something that has already take about as big of hit in price as you can. So when you flip in 2 yrs no mater how many hours you stack up you're still pretty close to where your at pricing. Your range is wide open all great choices performance wise. Here's what you want to take into consideration. That is of all the boats you mentioned which I going to be the most desirable and easiest to sell.
The X15 had a limited run. Was a 3 sport boat. Huge cabin. I mean huge. Wakes in all 3 disciplines are average. Not a huge following on the boat so pricing can be all over the map.
The Bu VTX again is a performance based 20ft'r. Wakes in all 3 disciplines are good. More of a skiers v drive. Bu's are strange. In some areas they have huge following and would sell immediately , in other areas they will sit forever. It's a roll dice thing for sure on that.
To me the two most popular boys on that list to sell in the highest demand are the X2 and 08 up 210. The X2 skis better than the 210 hands down. However the 210 out surfs and out wakeboards the X2 by a long shot. The 210 drives better, the X2 does not have tracking fins and can walk a bit on you. Depending on garage size the 210 may not fit in your standard garage . If you're on a lift the 210 tower folds way easier. The x2 requires lot of weight to get the wakes making , even sac' to the max it is not on par with a simple (3) zone piggy back on the 210, but again the ski wake is better on X2. Toss in the reversible lounge and the 210 again gains way more seating and just edges out the x2. Bow space obviously goes to the X2. You mention you want to take a huge step towards surfing. The 210 has a great 21ft boat surf wake. The demand for 210's will always be at the top of the list , so unloading one will never be an issue whatsoever. You're getting a 21ft boat which is way more desirable to most people than a 20ft'r the in X2.
The the only other boat I would consider is the SV211. The only issue I see is that boat is really a niche boat with a limited buyer pool.
To to me if I had budget of 50k. I would look 08- or newer 210. Stay more towards the 08 -09 era because depreciation is about as low as its gonna get. Hold on to that and if you wait for the right deal I can almost guarantee you'll be able to sell that boat in 2 yrs for what you paid today.

If you could stretch the budget to 55-60k, I'd start searching for a '12 210. I've seen them in the mid 60s recently, and I bet you could find a deal in the winter if youre patient. I'd shoot for a '12 because you'd get the NSS which would help resale value and demand. If there's no flex in the budget, I'd just get the cleanest 45K boat you can find and keep it as clean and maintained as you can, and go spend the 5k on gear. or gas
