That second vid is good. She gave up she coulda easily rode that out.

Have have her compact her body bit more ( squat) to spin little quicker and as she gets to about 3/4 stand tall to slow rotation. But she def needs some more speed down the line in to it.

This is not a wake issue. I have been trying 360's for a year and have not landed one. There are several good videos with tips that will help. It looks to me like she should practice carving more and moving up and down the wake. Trying 180's while holding the rope or trying heel in will also help to get used to shifting from front foot to back foot. Good luck.

Yikes, not trying to rain on your parade but it sure looks like there is a person on the platform and he is not wearing a PFD. Search for the thread swatguy linked a week or 2 ago about the teenage girl who drowned in a similar situation from CO poisoning. Hopefully surfpipe reduces or eliminates the CO risk but anything could happen and a PFD could be the difference between life and death.

Yep.....You are correct Quinner. I noticed it also...When I'm out....everyone is down INSIDE the seat...well...because we have to according to Texas law. You can't even ride up on the sun pads...have to be inside the seating area of the boat while underway.

Agreed Quinner. I grew up near Lake Waccammaw and heard about that kid drowning. I instituted a PFD policy for riding back there. These videos were taken before. It's probably a good idea to just keep them in the boat except when they are helping a surfer get in or tossing them the rope.

Oh yeah? Well, I got em down pretty quick and then lost em for two years. Talk about embarrassing... I'm back now though.

It looks like she just rams into the wave instead of turning into it and like she's lacking a bit of twist at the hips to turn the board. So, i agree that it looks like she doesn't have enough momentum to complete the turn to ride the wave back down.

I'd start with more aggressive cutting up the wave. If she can push out into the flat more, like pumping, it may help her bend the knees and actually turn the nose in. I mean, just pump out into it, not ride out into or else you scrub speed. Then when cutting back into the wave she'll have more control over where the nose is pointing and be able to use the end of the pumping action to start to spin up (pull board up) the wave. In that video, she doesn't' turn or twist into the wave just kind of surfs into it.

I'd have her try riding backside a bit, too. Sometimes it helps with balance and to break the 360 up. By break it up i mean, get a good spin going by cutting up the wave then pause at the 180 to stabilize, ride backside for a moment, then do a quick twist to right the board. It helps get the feel for the twist and build some confidence. Maybe try a different board that she could push toes down a bit more to get more bite on the edge for speed.

It looks like she's really super close and you can tell she's doing the little stuff right, like pushing her eyes all the way around to look across and pushing the wave. Just keep practicing, it'll happen.

Quinner, FYI - WECT in Wilmington is running a follow up story on the girl that died on Lake Waccammaw last year.

Here's the full story that ran last night. I might put this in a new thread for more people to see.

Pretty new to the G but we run ours 11.8 to 12 depending on people in boat. Funny thing about the G is the wave may not look great but it's got ridiculous push. We run with some lead in bow, usually 300 pounds depending on people again Full factory ballast NCRS at 0 and NSS at 0 most of the time. If you need to firm it up we may go up to 2 on NSS. We've added 750s in lockers but almost never use them. Just watching video a little speed would give you a longer wave basically more rider room.. Again one thing I'm learning is there is plenty of push way back there in wave. She can start back in wave and build speed towards to the boat and then go for the spin as she has momentum. Either way she's doing great! If it were easy it wouldn't be mythical and it is!
