The 200V and 210 slalom wakes are worlds apart. If the GS is in fact comparable to a 210, it is a board/surf boat first, with slalom being mentioned to lure in a segment of buyers (I suppose it reading "Super Air" on the side should indicate that). I agree that they don't appear overly eager to show the slalom wake, but from you can see, it looks pretty menacing. In reality, something has to give in a compromise boat, which was the surf wake in the 200V. Being that slalom isn't popular amongst the masses, it makes good business sense that they would focus on the surf/board wakes on the GS, with the slalom wake taking backseat. Sounds like that's what Bu did with the new VTX as well.Originally posted by MikeC View PostYou say the ski wake is comparable to your 210, just curious how that is and how it compares to say the 200 Sport. I noticed that in their videos they always cut away just as the skier is about to cross the wake, so there's no way to see how the bump effects the ski.'08 196LE (previous)

I'm wondering if the slalom wake would be comparable to early ski boat models? Like the 2001 model nautiques up to say before the TSC years... To me that would be a win, it will never compare to the new slalom tugs but if it was comparable to the early ski boats I'd be satisfied calling it a success. And want 1!

My hunch is the wake is much larger than a 2001 (model not year of course)? Those were only 2,400lbs. Ironically, as much of a wake snob as I can sound like, I really enjoyed skiing behind a friend's '89SN back in the day. And that's when our family had an 88 Prostar. I'm thinking the GS is a sweet little wake boat that can also pull a rec slalom skier for some gentle open water turns. The course ability in the video is a little optimistic I believe. Whatever the case, I hope it's a success for CC.Originally posted by jc View PostI'm wondering if the slalom wake would be comparable to early ski boat models? I think the GS20 weighs 1300lbs more than the 200v, I just don't see how it could be possible to engineer the same slalom wake.Originally posted by swc5150 View Post

Agreed. The 200V was the best effort at V drive slalom boat IMHO. If my family insisted on a V drive configuration for whatever reason, I would've bought one and been satisfied.Originally posted by tmb View Post

Nautique really spoiled us once the TSC came out. Not intending to hijack the GS thread, but I'll be excited to see how they top the 200.'08 196LE (previous)

No not at all. They were actually running him about 1.5mph faster than others to get the wave flatter and help not dive the nose of the board since he doesn't weigh anything. He was a little ripper though. Also keep in mind that this is in 6-8' of water.Originally posted by Catalac View PostThanks for the pics, appreciate the surf pic, with the young fella out behind is that max for wave size?

Is the tower really as short as it looks? I'm 6ft and I'm looking at the above pictures and it's tough to tell....

It is shorter than some boats I've been in but I'm 6'1" and hit my head on any boat that has tower speakers. Without the speakers there would be plenty of clearance. I think it is slightly shorter than other towers, but not much.Originally posted by ryancassidy View PostIs the tower really as short as it looks? Just heard from a baller who test skied one. Said the -15 to -28 wakes are down right terrifying, even at 36.Originally posted by jc View PostI grew up behind a 76' Ski Nautique, I just don't see how the GS could be a worse ski boat lol. But we short line course skied that boat for years, never complained.'08 196LE (previous)
