    Finding the right boat 45-60K

Current owner of a 2003 Super Sport, love the boat but want to cut down on the prep time. Currently taking about 35mins to fill all ballast, add suck gate and another 35 to drain. With little kids this isn't an option for me anymore. With that being said I'm looking to upgrade to a more advanced boat. Plan on wakeboarding, surfing and skiing behind the boat. The wake doesn't have to be the "best" for any activity, just good.

Any suggestions for a budget $45-60K? Would it make sense to go new( Mastercraft NXT, Axis?) or go with a "newer" used boat. I'd love a new G but that's for a later time

You can get a 2008+ 230 or 210 in that range. Both would have impeller pumps for ballast and both would be good for everything except skiing, and even then, you could do it, just not a great wake for it. Summer will be winding down soon and you will start to see some good deals pop up I would bet. If you can stretch your budget a little, I think in 2011 you can start adding NSS (don't quote me on that).

Since you are in MI i would lean toward the 230 for more storage and rough water. I have an 08 210 and love it but the 230 would give a little extra room. The 230 can easily be set up to accomplish everything you want it to do. It takes me about 7-8 minutes to get my 210 configured to surf including attaching ghetto gate. I have integrated bags on tanks in the rear and use lead bags for the bow instead of additional integrated bag.

I'm in the same "boat" as you. I have a 99 Sport Nautique and anytime we want to add/remove weight it's a long drawn out process and we lose all our storage. I'm looking around and have set my budget to 70k or so knowing my boat will offest about 25% of that when I sell it. I'm going to look for a 2012-13 210-230 and add NSS later on.

2008-2009 230's are one of the best boats that CC made imo... Still have gauges so no concern with LINC issues, great surf and wakeboard wake. I just installed an aftermarket surf system which works just like the new boats... should be able to find a nice one in 50ish range

211 if you want all 3 sports. Impeller pumps and easy to add on fat sacs if needed. Takes me about 5 mins with filling and suck gate. About same to empty. Good all around boat with a pretty decent surf wake. You can find them well equipped in your price range of patient. If you do enjoy skiing I wouldn't go with anything over a 210 n

If you are ok with the ski wake behind your current SS Vdrive, either the 230 or 210 ('07+newer) will work. The 230 will surf better and provide better storage and have more interior room than a 210. '07+ 210 will ski better. My $0.02 is the wakeboard wake is better on a 230 with the potential to get much bigger than the 210.
I'm now seeing 210's >$50k, 230's depending on colors are 50-60 depending on year options, engines etc...
If considering a ZO equipped boat, check for an updated antenna (Rectangular shaped vs. round), this will make life better when adding weight for wakeboarding.
I agree with shag on the '08 & '09 boats, very good build quality, and a lot of content in the boats, ie, rear facing seating, reversible seat backs, layout etc...

Look for the thread from Max 1.6.... He makes them and I bought the actuators and did the install... I can't believe how good it works... Just plumbed in ballast but have been working too **** much to try it out yet

IMHO i'd be looking at a 210, plumb some extra bags in, some sort of surf system and you'll have a killer wake and wave at the expense of the skiing, if skiining is important go for a 211.

Just be careful I started looking at second hand boats a few years ago and ended up buying a g23 with the fruit.... **** got out of control pretty quickly!

If you could cut your fill times to less than ten mins, would you want to keep your current boat? You could do it with a custom ballast system.

Mark, yeah I've been looking into some systems at wakemakers. I'd also like to add fresh air exhaust as well. Trying to decide if it's worth putting the money/time into a 2003 or just upgrade to a newer boat...

Another 210 vote. I upgraded my 2000 Xstar to my 08 210 and couldn't be happier. All my ballast is hidden. Fills 3k in 8-9 minutes and away we go. I added NSS to my 08. It can be done. I actually had backed off the speed from my old 24.5 to 23 and dumped some ballast and I couldn't be happier so now it takes 6 min

The 08-13 210's outfierforms and X15 or X2 hands down in both surf and wakeboarding. Edge skiing to the X15 and X2. The reversible lounge in the 210 is money. Especially for the kiddos. The flip up observers side seat gives everyone watching the action a nice backrest to sit all day in rather than kink their neck around backwards. When you want to cruise simply flip seat back around and viola you're good to go. It's one of the single best seating layouts for Watersports.

If you're ok with going 230 the 230 gives bit better surf and bit better wake , but your're talking much bigger boat to tow around.

Well said swatguy... +1 for the 210. I have a 09 210 with NSS added and it is a great boat! It does have a really nice layout and performs extremely well.
