I will tell you after putting 1200 hours on a 2000 Xstar , if it came to an 03 SANTE or 03-04 X1/205v/Xstar I would take the SANTE 210 all day from 03 and up as a pure wakeboard boat.

You're going to find the SANTE is 2-4K higher in price year to year than the MC right off the get go if the boats are identical.

I would agree that this boat should get almost 29K. Even with the colors that some might not find popular, that is a nice looking well cared for boat (by the looks of it). Condition/hrs are everything in the value of those boats.... If that was one I would have probably priced it a tad higher to see how it did with it warming up..

My honest opinion, I'd be more likely to by the reverse gel coat even if it is yellow. They are a much cleaner looking boat when taken care of. The reverse hulls are not as easy to come by and usually favorited over the regular hulls. Granted yellow isn't exactly the prime color these days, you never know 5 years down the road when you might be ready to upgrade. It's just hard to go wrong with a well taken care of vintage Super Air. Like I said and as well as everyone else, they hold their value better than any other boat on the market.
Needless to say...you would not be getting ripped off at 29k but it's all about personal preference. If the color combo is not your cup of tea, just keep searching, but be prepared to drive. I just drove 6 hours last weekend with a friend to pickup an old Prostar and I drove 5 hours last year to get my SAN. I was willing to drive up to 10 hours if the price was right. I got lucky though!

If the price and color aren't right for you keep looking. The only person who needs to feel like they got a good deal is you. Finding a boat a state away or more can be a little scary. However, I've found a lot of people on forums who were more than willing to go look over a boat for me and give their honest opinion. The Last two Supra's I looked at were 8-10 hours away. A forum member went and looked at them both. One, which looked amazing in pictures, turned out to be the biggest **** bucket the guy had seen. The pictures he took spoke very loud and clear at the neglect that boat had taken. He saved me an 8 hour drive to be very disappointed. The second boat he looked at I bought a week later. Drove the 10 hours to buy it with cash in hand.

Deals are to be had, where both the seller and buyer can feel like they are happy with the transaction. Don't think this can't be done. However, being that summer is coming quickly those prices are going to be driven up a bit. Its all about supply and demand. Boat prices are cheap in the fall before winter storage and more expensive in spring at the beginning of the season when they are more desirable.

I also drove 6 hours each way to buy my SANTE. I also got an amazing deal on it. The pictures I was sent showed a well cared for boat. However, when I drove to look at it and test it out it looked nothing like the pictures, except the gelcoat was a mirror and the engine was new. The boat was moldy inside and had some sun damage on the sun deck on the rear. Although, the boat was very sound and had been taken care of in previous years, it was apparent when the engine blew the boat was put away wet and kind of forgot about until months later when the new engine was installed and it was ultimately sold to me. Took me about 2 days of cleaning it when I got home and it looked like a near showroom boat.

I agree that it's worth what he is asking for it... I'm a little biased though as I've got one just like it up for sale as well

Agree with above. Good clean SANTEs are hard, but not impossible, to find. Nautiques hold value. With new or newer ones tipping 75-120k, the 30k-ish price point is hot.

Oh yeah --- meant to add to ask questions about the trailer, especially if you have to tow it back a long way. Many owners neglect the trailer. Has he replaced tires, bearings, brake cylinder? You could run up $1500 in trailer repairs pretty quickly. So .... Clean boat AND maintained trailer would be a find.

I was talking with a boat dealer salesman today and he told he has an easier time right now selling a new 80-100k boat than an older boat in the price range I'm looking at. The mastercraft 06 X1 was in very good condition. They got it listed at 29k he said so they can move it out. Because they are sick of looking at it. I was kind of surprised because most individuals selling the same year model are asking in the mid 30's. Usually dealers are higher in price than individual sellers. I'm just not crazy about the tower. Very hard to lower and raise.

I'd grab this one over the yellow one. Great color combo and looks in great shape too. "resale red"

I agree. I really like the looks of MAK's boat. Too bad you don't want to trade for an 01 SAN. White, red, and black.

They have a nice white/blue one with reasonable hours. They had a red/black 00' with super low hours (its still on their inventory) that I wanted but already has a deal pending.

Edit: No offense to Mak as his boat looks nice but that yellow one (from the pictures anyway) looks mint. I don't like yellow and I would snag the yellow one.

It will be easier to obtain financing on a newer boat, especially with a large down payment. Not so much with an older boat. May explain why dealers move the newer ones. If you have the 30k cash, you can get a nice deal. Just make sure you cover all repairs that will be necessary before quibble over $1500 or so. I know a few who started out looking in the 30k market and found some nice ones. But they were tempted by financing and putting the 30k as a down payment. One is pleased with his purchase. The other wished he had paid cash and not have the boat payment, especially because the Nautique he found was really well cared for.

No offense to MAK, however his boat isn't in as near of nice condition as the yellow one and listed for more. I'd be all about that yellow boat. Then again, I've got a crush orange boat, so......
