    xrichard, thanks for posting, I picked up a gem above. I have been using the plastic tube with a "Suck Up" extractor and haven't had any issues over the years, but I can see your point.

    Oh, and the other ideas are all good in your post too, thanks!

      I used to use plastic, too. The manual says use copper, but doesn't say why....so I either ignored it or didn't pay attention until I read a thread (not sure if here or on another forum) where a guy got a plastic one stuck. He eventually forced it out, but shredded part of it and I believe a piece broke off, leaving plastic bits in the transmission An expensive lesson for him...free for me.
