As rarely as you tow, I personally would have no issue towing right at or even somewhat over the vehicles tow capacity rating, including vehicles rated at 5k pulling your setup.Originally posted by darthwhitey View PostYeah, I figured it's gotta be over 5000#'s.
For the record, I don't go on long trips or load the boat down with gear when towing. I mainly only go the 45 miles back and forth to the dealer a couple times a year.

When I was researching the purchase of my 2013 210 with 343. I found someone on here that actually took one loaded to the scales and I think they weighed in around 5800lbs.
I tow mine with our Yukon XL Denali but have had issues with it including a blown up front transfer case and resulted seized front axle and then we blew the transmission. All at less than 17000km.
We are currently looking at a new tow vehicle. LOL.

Trailer brakes should never be relied upon to circumvent or add to the actual stopping capacity of the tow vehicle. Panic and emergency situations should always be accounted for. I have had a CDL for 25 plus years and have been in a busy FIRE/EMS for about the same. Trust me I have seen the ramifications of having an insufficient tow vehicle. That said, if it was a simple down to the end of the road for the boat ramp sort of thing, I might be willing to cheat a little. Anything on the highway should never be taken for granted. Imo.

Crazy, that was at 10k miles?? At least it was covered by warranty. I have owned several Suburban's/XL's and currently have a Yukon which have all been very reliable and durable, bummer yours self destructed.Originally posted by iamcdn View PostI tow mine with our Yukon XL Denali but have had issues with it including a blown up front transfer case and resulted seized front axle and then we blew the transmission. Yup, it was terrible. The transmission problem happened 3 hrs into a 10hr drive on a little grid highway on our way to summer holidays. We lost the transmission on a two lane highway with barely a shoulder with two kids under 3. We got towed to the nearest dealership who was great.Originally posted by Quinner View PostCrazy, that was at 10k miles?? At least it was covered by warranty. Everything is fixed but we have no faith in the vehicle now. GM did not treat us well so we are looking at moving on to something different. I have always been a GM fan but this left a bad taste for sure...

I've towed my 04 210 sante with a number of trucks, 08 F150, 05 F250, 09 Titan, 08 tundra and I currently have a 13 Ram 1500. So far my all time favorite has been the 5.7 tundra, haven't towed enough with the ram but I think it'll be a close contender.
