    2014 G21 or add NSS + ballast to 2014 210

This past year family really got into surfing. Seems to be our sport of future as wakeboarding takes a toll on Mom and Dad's aging joints. Kids like being close to the boat and getting encouragement from family/friends just feet away.

Our 2012 210 with stock ballast and no NSS did ok for the kids. Wave was ok for me if we lugged grandma and grandpa along with us and moved them around.

We all got better and outgrew the wave. We demo-ed a 2014 G23 w/409 and loved the wave, but we usually only have max 6 people in boat so the length is overkill.

Dealer has a demo 2014 G21 with a 343. For $25 K I can trade and get into the G keeping same loan payments.

Or for about 5K I can get NSS and some additional ballast.

Having not demo-ed the G21 and and not ever been in a 210 with aftermarket NSS I feel like I do not have enough info to make a good decision.

Any thoughts or shared experience would help. Is a 343 in a G21 enough power?

    thanx

Resale is going to hurt with out nss.
I have a 2013 210 with nss . I have tried it with out the Nss is not great. With nss and extra ballast it is awesome. Check out the video edit from f725 you can see the wave is very good.
In our boat with 2 people in the boat one on port and the driver. It is very good.

I run factory plus a 600 lb bag starboard, factory plus 200 port and a bow sac, And it makes a very good goofy wave.
i you have 4 people in the boat stick one in the nose and you get a huge long wave.
It will cost 700 for bags and fittings and a hour of work.
nss I think is 2500 installed

If you weren't so far away I would offer you a ride on my 2012 210 with NSS and ~2300lbs of ballast. I haven't tried a G21 with the 343 only the 409 which I loved. My 210 surfs well and is big enough for a really big guy to get out there and surf on a slightly too small board, but its hard to overlook the pull of a 2 year newer boat with that good a wake for 25k assuming you demo the 343 and its enough motor for your needs.

That said if you like the way your 210 is setup and it meets all your other needs the NSS is a big improvement on the surf wake. I don't recall how much I paid for the NSS but I know I made a 2500 deposit and it looks like I paid the rest in cash so it didn't seem to cost close to 5 grand. I spent less than a grand pulling the hard tanks and adding the 750's and picking up 500lbs of bomb sacks. If you want a little more than the 750's you can piggyback your bags or pull the hard tanks and put the brostock 900's in the back. Thats a crazy amount of weight with the NSS. I am going to guess you could probably come in around 4k.

If I was only planning on surfing recreationally it might be hard to justify getting a G21, although it doesn't stop me from wishing I had one I just also don't want to give up my 210. Fingers crossed if I win the As Our Own sweepstakes I could have both.

jonsquatch. This may be my lucky chance. I live in Scottsdale and work in Phoenix. I have a lake house in Hayden Lake, ID. That's part of the equation too. My family uses the boat only 8 weeks/yr, I get up there only 3.

That works out well then! This weekend is the Nautique Regatta in Parker and my boat will be there as well as a slew of G's, otherwise I am sure we can find a time to get you an idea.

I have the G21 with 409 engine and it is perfect. In your position, I would test the G21 with 343 engine and if it works well for your needs I would take it. If not I would go for the 210 upgrade and then wait until a G21 with 409 engine opportunity appears.

I can't imagine a 343 being comfortable in a g21 but you should give it a try. If your not interested pm me the dealers info as I may be. I have the same boat as yours but with nss

If it was me I would tell them $25k difference is too much and try to do it for $20. I would rather have a g21 then a 210 for sure!
