Not a spelling mistake it';s just the way we spell wattle here. (it's a tree) I have a dilemma. I love the nautique quality and a lot of things about the way they execute. What can your Sport 200 do flat out at close to sea level? I am tossing up between a 200 V and a VTX. I know there are differences but I feel as though the achilles heel of the 200 is a massive wetted surface and too much drag for a 343 to cope with. We like to ski and foot and I know the wake is good. But does it come at the expense of fuel consumption and speed?

In order to barefoot you will need the ZR409 and you will not be happier. The upgrade is so worth it on many levels. Bare footing uses fuel but overall the ZR409 is better than the 343 because you are not working it as hard. The 343 is an old style engine where the ZR409 is a modern design with aluminum heads (lighter than the 343) - very smooth and quiet with a top end of just over 46 mph

I had the 343 and it did everything i wanted to but footing a lot you may want the 409. The 200 hull does drag but that's the same hull that is pulling World records2013 SANTE 210

It's not that we foot a lot, it's just that we want the ability to do it and do it comfortably. So what did your 2011 top out at with the 343? I'd take a drive myself but 200's around here are rare as hens teeth and the local dealer not much chop either.Originally posted by 4th ski-doo View PostI had the 343 and it did everything i wanted to but footing a lot you may want the 409. Good to see some aussies having a go and a pretty good video at that. I enjoyed the vid then made the mistake of reading the comments. Barefoot sanger blah blah, paid to talk rubbish blah blah. Why hate? I say the nautique and the VTX run a very close race. I love the nautique but the VTX will pull the speed with the smaller engine and has much more room. The slalom wake and quality are what pulls me hack to nautique.Originally posted by mpc View PostCheck this video out of bare-footing with a 2013 Sport 200V ZR409

I would never own an Indmar. Make sure you do the research on the maintenance , cooling and breakdown issues with both PCM and Indmar. They are the same engines but definitely miles apart with the way they work.

Hi Gerry, after watching the video again and seeing the speed they achieved I asked my kids what speed they recalled from last summer (first year with the 200V) and it was slightly over 45 not 46 so my mistake and my apologizes. It is the stock prop shipped from the factory so I am not sure what prop it is. An email to the factory may find out. My boat is a 2013 Sport 200V TE with the ZR409. I will check with the dealer to see if they know.Originally posted by gpk View PostMPC what prop are you running to achieve 46 mph with the 409.
thanks Gerry

That comment refers to a pure barefoot boat so it should and will be superior to a crossover. I have no regrets this boat does a good job of all three sports.Originally posted by dihrdskir View PostGood to see some aussies having a go and a pretty good video at that. I have the 409 and can confirm the 45-46 number with stock prop. I lost about 1 or 2 mph with a prop change. We don't barefoot at all but I liked the cooling system of the 409 much better (we move a lot for our jobs and may end up on salt water at some point).
