Great info. I have a 2008 SANTE 230 myself with the ZR390 and was wondering how the two props 1235 and 1579 perform on your boat? Also I have the exact same setup with piggyback sacks and ballasts but cannot get my boat dialed in for Surfing. Can you tell me what you do to set your boat up for surfing?

Had a 1235 prop an now have a 1579 and there is no difference in fuel consumption.

230 with a 390hp ZR-6. On petrol around 5Gph, on LPG around 5.5Gph. Normal wakeboarding/surfing/skating with standard ballast and 3-5people.

2013 G23 450 engine. Ride with 2/3rds ballast mostly. 80% wake, 15% cruising, 5% surf. 6.15 gph over 180 hours.

Real world fuel usage for various Nautique boats
Ok here is some real world fuel use for you guys:
1.9 hrs =13.2 gals fuel use. 6.95gals/hr
This was 4 wake board sets at 22.9mph, sets lasted about 25mins avg about 6falls and each set was 7miles long(river) no turn arounds. 08 San 210 with 343 and 1235 prop. About 2700 ballast and 2 in boat. Sets started at dock so no motoring time and prob only 5mins total idle time.
My buddies 2010 x-15 with the 350 motor and 2400lbs of ballast uses about 7.8gals/hr with exact same runs.
So moral of story is the more weight you push through the water the more fuel you burn. Everybody goes nuts with ironj's fuel use numbers but I guarantee there aren't many people that track their usage like his nor run the weight he does. Every minute you spend idling or not pulling a rider around your fuel average is gonna look much better than otherwise would. I go out with several guys that never shut there boat down from the time they back it in the water to the time they pull it out. All that idle time is using fuel and counting to hrs but not anywhere near the rate of actually towing a rider with ballast. Also many of these guys don't even count true engine hrs in their calcs. Holy Crap, that is a ridiculous amount of fuel use, one thirf boat consumes as much fuel as 2 fully loaded tractors trailers running along at 60mph. Not only destroying the shoreline but emitting gobs of pollutants, lol, treehuggers unite.
Glad I only do real watersports, so much "greener" and leaving a far smaller footprint.

Here's my data pretty simple, this is how I would characterize it:
2013 450 G23 on 2315 prop
Going reasonable with factory ballast 6-10gph, under 3400rpms.
Going heavy approx 1200 above factory ballast 10-13gph. 3500-3700rpms
2014 550 G23 with OEM 15 x 14 prop
Going reasonable with factory ballast 8-12gph, under 3400rpms.
Going heavy approx 1500 above factory ballast 13-16gph. 3500-3700rpms

Here is mine from my last 4 gas purchases 2008 210 (343EX) 1579 Prop. 2 people in boat no ballast unless indicated below. Low elevation. 21.48 gals/ 8 hours= 2.685gph>>>>22 gals/ 8.1 hours=2.71 gals/ hour>>>>3.7 hours/ 11.7 hours=3.16 gals/ hour (full ballast>>>>12 gals/5.3 hours= 2.26 gals/ hour. My typical day out consist of idle out from ramp drop rope and ride. Very little open water run time on the lake where I am at. I always start with a full tank when tracking my fuel consumption. I run the Stabil Marine stabilizer as well. 95% wakeboarding 5% freeride skiing.
