2012 230 and 2013 G23 - Tower Folded Down, How Much Clearance Needed?

Hi all - I'm in the market for a 2012 230 or a 2013 G23 and was wondering what kind of garage door height/clearance I would need for these two boats (2012 230 on the "blinged out" Boat Mate w/18 wheels). My 2008 210 fit under my standard garage door opening (7'1") because it was on a Ram-Lin and had the Titan SS Tower....however, I've heard that a 2012 230 needs an 8 foot tall door to clear and a G23 needs a 9 foot door to clear. Can anyone confirm this? I'm looking to pull the trigger very soon on one of these two boats and trying to determine what modifications I'll need to do to my garage to get the new boat inside. I'm not sure what the 230 folded height is but on the g23 the measurement of the folded tower height was about 8'2". Why in the heck would Nautique do this? Stupid. What engineer came up with a 8'2". Come on most doors in America are 8' correct?

Nordicron - thank you for chiming in as well. Agreed....8'2" seems like a brick on CC's part, but maybe their reasoning is no one is trying to store a boat of this size in their garages? Who knows.....looks like I'll need to go with a 9' door though....that will insure that either the 230 or G will clear no problem.

Could be they think most people that buy a G put it on a lift. I would think that the height could be reduced depending on the trailer and wheel/tire set up though.

PDF shows 99.5", so figure at least 100" even or maybe 101", which is more 8'4" min. or 8'5" real world...not even close to 8'! C'mon guys, 8.2' IS different...:-)

My G23 on a Boatmate trailer, with 18" wheels sits at 8'3".

IronJ - Holy shiz!! Speechless....that thing is incredible looking - great job picking those colors....the white tower ties in perfectly with the white on the side of the boat. Also like that you went with the tan colored SeaDek instead of the grey (my new 230 has grey....I'll probably swap it to tan when I can). Can wait to see some wake pics and riding footage behind that monster.

Also, for anyone that might be thinking about storing a 2012 230 in their garage, it will fit under a "standard garage" door height (7'1") with the tower folded. Was able to put my new 230 in my garage without any modifications to garage door height or boat....and its even sitting on the blinged out BoatMate trailer with 18" rims. See pics (also threw in some pics of my previous 2008 210 for comparison sake).
