Bolt that plate to the glove box or that amp will end up on the floor.

you think ?
I might put a bolt or two but the screws into the plastic board we're pretty dang solid and with the half tube of silicone , I don't think it will go anywhere...but I might do it overkill as you suggested !
got busy yesterday
yummy parts

the xs650 black cone

before

in the makin'

we'll see how it turns out. I was planning on adding a pad (seadeck etc) on top of the pannel where you would usually rest your arm while driving so I don't have to test how durable that paint is

The sheet is 5/8'' thick
I got it from our local building center. A half sheet was around 100$.well worth it I'd say. On Monday I will get the exact name, it's a 4 letter acronym if I recall correctly (like mdf)

HDPE ( Puck Board)? High Density Polyethylene. One thing to watch for with the puck board ( if that's what your using) is that it expands and contracts quite a bit. If your fitting it tight, it will expand with the heat off of your motor, and could make a mess of things. I used some for my sled deck on my pickup. I used PL400, and # 10 Screws on 3/4" plywood. In the winter it was great, come summertime though it pulled away from the glue and broke most of the screws.

It isn't screwed to anything, just being held in place by the metal channel on top and the aluminum channel on the floor. I will see how it reacts, worst case I still got carpet and marine plywood.
Does anybody see a problem with mounting the amp upside down?

Hey thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it. A buddy of mine is coming over on saturday to rewire and hook up the new audio goodies. All I will need to do after that is reassemble the interior, hook up the tank buster kit and have the carpets cleaned up!

Silicone isn't glue, it's for sealing windows and bath tubs, plastic sheet that will hold a screw is generally slippery even for things like epoxy. On top of that you're mounting it so that there is always something pulling on it and that pull will be multiplied when the lake is less than ideal. If it was mine I would move it, I just can't see that staying there very long with out some bolts to hold it, and I cant come up with a really good way to do that cleanly.Originally posted by saceone View PostIt isn't screwed to anything, just being held in place by the metal channel on top and the aluminum channel on the floor. I understand your point. I will probably end up bolting it. As far as silicone not being glue, I strongly disagree. Following your post I figured what the heck I'm going to remove the screws and yank on it real good. Silicone won that battle!
I am more concerned about the heat caused by hanging it upside down

Is it UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene)? We use that a lot to make change parts for our bottling lines. Tough stuff.Originally posted by saceone View PostThe sheet is 5/8'' thick
