    ^^ that,s the spirit!!

one thing you do NOT want to do is having your friend wakesurfing while the MIRA (dog for blind people) dog he is training is in the boat. They get paranoid or something, hopped on the rear hatch, poked his claws trough the vinyl and jumped in the water.

I wanted to kill that ****forbrains. She assured me her dog would be cool ... oh well!

I have been accused of being a Nautique fan boy and drinking the kool aid . People that know me have said I am just a little Anal about my boats . That being said I love my dog more than my boats. I think its my mission in life to make sure he has a good life. Yes its true the dog is good for 3-4 hours of extra clean up a week but no way could I get away with not bringing him. After all its my mission.

To answer your question after trying everything including covers for all the seats soft paws are the answer. They come in all sizes and colors, simply trim the nail [ I also use a dremel tool] and glue them on . The dog doesn't even know there on . There is no effect on walking, running or swimming. They will last about 4-6 weeks. They wont help with cleaning up hair . 550 hours 99% with the dog on board no issues or damage. The pics below are with the clear covers.

You mean that nozzle coming out in 2nd to last picture is not the dog hair vacuum? Oh, my mistake.

I agree, No dogs on my boat. I like them but not on the furniture either.

I have a friend with one that was the best spotter, barked every time the skier fell, but still can see it happening on mine.

To go along with the post above about Bocce and Travis Moye. That dog is the most well mannered boat dog i have ever met. Gets up every time a rider falls and lays on the sunpad watching riders all day.

When I used to take my weimaraner out on my fathers boat, I couldnt keep the dang thing in the boat. Always wanted to be in the water and always looking to where I was.

I have had 3 large (85 - 105 lb) German Shepherds throughout the years and all grew up on the boat. If you start them young they are calm and I have never had any damage from them. The hair on the other hand is hard work getting it out of the carpets. Sienna our current dog is a long haired German Shepherd and you have to regularly vacuum the carpets. I wear a rubber work glove on one hand and the vacuum in the other, dragging the rubber glove over the carpet pulls the hair out and the vacuum does its job. You sure work up a sweat but it is worth to have your pet along for the ride.

Our lab joins us, but only on my boat (I wouldn't dream of taking her on somebody elses) and only when it's just my family. If my wife isn't along she doesn't go. So far, no nail treatment and no rips. If dogs regularly walk on pavement the their nails stay filed down.

just wondering if any one has personnel experience of their dogs cutting the vinyl, been on many boats with dogs of all sizes over the years but have not seen any damage caused by the dogs,

Guthrie hasn't cut, or even scratched the vinyl. He is about 55#, but well behaved on the boat. I don't take him every time, but he goes.

Being able to take our dog is the main reason I'm considering trading our 03 226 to a 220 or 230. Snap in carpet would make it doable. Just take out carpet when the dog goes. I think for seats maybe just protect them with a towel while you have your dog with you. Most big dogs that are outside have worn nails even more so if you run the on pavement every so often. Either way having your dog with you sounds great.

I couldn't take my dog out if I wanted to. Everytime we stop to shorten the rope, he jumps out into the lake to "save" me.

Over all the years and a lot of boat rides - no vinyl damage.

Priceless. One time a co-worker broought her big dog to the office on the weekend. She didn't know it but the dog pinched a loaf right if front of the elevator door. She left w/the dog down the stairs and nobody found the prize until Monday.
