Is a 4 month layup a coverage lapse, and thus the gimmick behind the "discounts"?

No, your boat will still be covered. I always have a 5mo layup on my insurance. I think there's a break for a garage kept boat (at home), at least that's what my agent said?

layup is if u dont use your boat for the winter months. Still covered aslong as its sitting still. Not good fora Texas boater as we never know we could use ours year round one year and it may sit 4 months the next.
