I have not seen it in the 230, but have seen it in the Sport 200. Very simple system. It is just like have a trickle charger permanently mounted in the boat. You need to run an extension cord to one of the aft storage compartments and just plug it in. meant for when the boat is in a boat house/lift or on it's trailer mainly. It does not run like a shore power kit.
The charger is installed in the storage compartment with the starboard battery. The plug in for your extension cord is mounted in the wall between the battery storage compartment and the cooler storage. You plug in in the cooler area. There are no extra holes in the hull.

Our boat never on a lift as we trailer most of time. Only thing I can think of where this is of use to me is to plug in and leave all winter ? (like a trickle charge) ? or can you not leave it in that long.
Im assuming if both batteries went dead, plugging into this system is not best way to get boat started, more like a jump pack in that situation as this seems to be more of a trickle system not a jump start system ?
I like in western Oregon, and the Winters are milder here than most of the country, but I just disconnect the negative battery cable. In the spring, when I recommission the boat, I hook up 6 amp battery charger, and usually by the time I am ready to start the engine, after hooking everything up, and putting plugs back in, the charger has dropped to a less than 2 amp rate, and I start the boat.
If your battery will not hold a charge over winter, disconnected, it probably is not a reliable battery to start the boat with next Summer. I would replace it.
I have a battery tender (charger/maintainer) I purchased on line for around $25, mounted it in the battery compartment and wired to the battery terminals permenately. My boat sits on a lift and I plug it in after each use, have done this for 7 years. I use the boat 2 - 3 times a week in summer, I am not really concerned about the battery going dead, this just keeps it full. The battery charger stays pluged in all winter, the boat will get used 2 - 3 times a month all winter. My two ski buds also do the same thing as we trade off the boat we use each outing and no one has had a problem with the chargers, a dead battery or any battery issues at all. We all have extension cords on our lifts we can quickly plug the chargers into, never have to disconnect or remove the battery. Two of us have Optima and one has a Diehard.

I'm with DanielC as usual. One suggestion I would make to all...based on the fact that RARELY (if ever) is your battery actually fully charged even after a long boat ride with no accessories on. That is just the way the system work. So, at the end of the season, put your charger on the battery and top it off. That will further reduce sulfate production, discharge, etc. and you're battery should be just fine when you springerize (Copyright!!) it. I (again like DC) put the charger on for the first use. Why?....dunno. I usually pull the kill switch and crank it before I do and she has always cranked.
Yes, "gave" them the order back in early September....knowing we were going for a Nov-Dec build.
That's pretty good even if they didn't have a slot(s) already reserved. Some (most?) dealers have their slots per hull scheduled and if they don't get a special order in time, they spec it out for their inventory.
Our 230 was a dealer demo so they had it loaded with options. The charger is nice but I doubt I'd spring for it if I were building the boat up myself... we had our 196 for 4 years and never once put a charger on it - disconnected the battery during the 5 month lay up and ran it regularly during the season - never had an issue.
For other who are interested, the factory charger is the ProMariner ProSport... I can't remember if it's the 12 or 20 Amp version - dual battery.

I purchased a 2013 Sport 200V back in January. It came with the ProMariner ProSport 8. Problem is, the plug used to plug the tender into the extension cord is missing. The plug on the end of the charger is a female desktop computer style plug. The one with the three vertical prongs. Does anyone else have this style of plug and can I just use a computer cord / cable to plug the tender into a normal extension cord.
