Skiing behind a 230 sounds insanely wrong in so many ways to me.

Why is that?? Does it give off a big wake?

Its 23' long and made for wakeboarding so yes. However, I've only touched the wake, not slalomed or gone 34mph. As for sacs, if you want a big wake you'll need them, but can set them up so all are hidden and filled/emptied sitting the captains chair. Talk with those who own 230's, but I'd be looking at 200 sports, 210's, and maybe even direct drive models. As a smart man once said, "it's easier to get a good wakeboard wake from a slalom boat than a god slalom wake from a wakeboard boat.

We mostly wakeboard. My wife is the only skier. She is no Andy Maple. Recreational only. I just want something that she will enjoy. 99% of the people that go with us, either wakeboard or surf.

Why do you dislike bags? A lot of people rip out hard tanks to put bags in.

Because I need to remove all the stuff from my rear lockers to fill the bags. I rather add a bag when I surf or bags to wakeboard when needed. Its gets a little crouded with all the gear, ice chest, and crew in the boat.

I wash and vac my boats before going to the lake. I would rather ride in a nice clean boat all day. I was wipe it down at the end of the day.

If you store heavy stuff back there, yes you would not be able to put that on top of bags, and I see your point. I keep vests and light stuff on top of the bags w/o a problem and keep the only heavy thing (the cooler) in the main area, which I prefer because I'm in and out of the cooler constantly. You could build a frame around the bags so they essentially give you the same plusses and minuses as hard tanks.

i have the hard tanks w/ 750lb bags on top of each. the only thing i store back there are riding vests and ropes. the cooler storage on the starboard side has the grate removed and that spot is reserved for quick access to peoples back packs. I have 10 CGA orange vests stored under the very rear seats. I have 8 dedicated stereo batteries (4 in the bow, 2 under the drivers helm, and 2 under the port leanback). In the nose I have 4 x G6 fenders and 6 dock lines. under the port helm i have 5 amps, a Xantrex charger, and 2 x 15" subs. I have an arrowhead sack and a danforth anchor w/ 10' of chain and 100' of 3/8" line in the floor locker. the 48 can soft cooler goes in front of the reversible bench next to the driver. 2 sets of board racks allow me to carry up to 8 boards up top. that still leaves all of the port side storage from the observers seat back to store stuff, which never gets used....

if you dial in your float plan, the boat has tons of storage with or without the hard tanks...

We finally have proof that you can put 10 lbs of stuff in a 5 lb bag!

Now thats what I am talking about. If there is two families in my boat. We have two coolers sometimes 3 coolers (beer cooler). Just with two cooler, and 8 people, it get crowded in my 21' boat. I hate clutter in the boat.
