On the Exc343 and Acme 422 prop I hit 43.7 on the ZO and it was turning right at 5,000 rpm. I don't know what the rev limit is on the Excal so not sure if I'm running out of power or running against the limit. 5,000 would seem low to be hitting the rev limit.

Hmm, thats interesting. My dad's '03 196 (330 Excal) wouldnt even pull the 422 5000 rpm. He was closer to the 4950 mark, which pushed the boat just over 45 on the GPS. I cant see how a hull thats 2 mph slower would be able to pull that many RPM without a significant increase in hp- I dont think the 13hp difference would account for that.Originally posted by jharris View PostOn the Exc343 and Acme 422 prop I hit 43.7 on the ZO and it was turning right at 5,000 rpm. Thanks SkierJP, yes we are looking at a few Promo boats...seems to be the best situation for us. Also considering the 409 to ensure that we have enough power. I know Winter Haven well, great place to be. I lived in Lake Alfred and Tampa for a few years, but missed the snow. Best of luck with your skiing!
