    226 with double captain seats

Have any of you seen the new 226 with double captain seats? I saw one today and wondered what you guys think about the option.

To me it looked comfy for a family boat, but took away too much storage space for my tastes. The boat looked like a cruiser, not quite what I had in mind for a Nautique. Of course the workmanship was top rate and the space in the 226 is massive.

    what do you think?

I've never heard of or seen one. Where did you see it?

Wawasee Marina in Syracuse, IN. It's for real. It was not Team edition and had no tower. I wish I had taken a few pictures - sorry.

Did the factory make this, or was this some custom boat done locally? Yeah I woulda liked to see a pic, but it sounds like its supposed to compete w/ the X-80--that boat has two captain seats also.

if its not a Team with no Tower, likely its the Sport Edition (Non Air). But I have not seen a Sport version with 2 captains chair. ? ? ?
Must be a Special Order / Request.

I prefer, the standard passenger clam shell type seating, like what comes in the Limited and Team "AIR" versions.

I'd like to see this boat too. Will you be going back anytime soon with a camera?

airnautique211... do you live close to WBC? That's were my new 211 is still being stored (sad face)... I was just there a couple weeks ago and haven't seen the 226 you are talking about and I didn't see it at the boat show a couple weeks ago? You didn't happen to get a pic that you could post did you? Maybe you can ask Dave H (@ WBC) to post one!

I will go up early next week for some pix. What color is your 211? I may have seen it if it is in the showroom.

AN211.. it's red w/titanium stripe, black trailer... They said they liked mine enough when it came it that they ordered a duplicate to put in the showroom (can't get much more complimentary than that). I had a tough time choosing between the red and the vapor blue.. but red matches my rig better! Last time I saw mine (and the only time so far) it was wrapped from top to bottom in shrink wrap... like I said, it's been a long winter! would love to see some pics! If you talk to Dave, tell him Jeff said hi! and where's my IPOD!! (ha ha). Actually, I was wondering if WBC had any of the white Nautique decals, would like a simple one to place on my truck.

Hey guys, I took the pictures today - here they are.

Also, JeffSV211, I have a few pictures of your boat. I will email them to you - I would hate to steal your thunder by posting the first pictures of your boat on the sight. I will say though - it's hot!

Oh, by the way guys - this is a factory option on the 226 for '05- not a custom shop modifiction. It is not listed in the new book, but I guess it is available. Thanks to WBC for allowing me back in with a camera - the folks at Wawasee are first rate, they run a class act marina.

Another new change to the tower boats is the light on the tower. Previously the light was a pole style in the rear. The new light is a flip up style light on the top of the tower. It's about 6" tall and is mounted in front of the rope mount on the tower. It hinges upward when needed. I guess it is something to do with the coastguard requirement of being the tallest thing the boat. It lookes nice - the only odd thing is the wire that trvel through the tower. The wire are not much different than those used for speakers, so it's no big deal - just another thing to contend with when folding the tower or running wires for multiple tasks.

Thats pretty cool and looks a lot nicer than I thought! Looks like a real good boat for the guy coming from a Cobalt trying to get into an inboard wakeboat.

That still holds 12 right? And about the new tower light, could you explain that to me a bit more? Like does it still look sloppy and aftermarket, or like it was custom designed by CC. I'm about to get an aftermarket one, but would really like to get a nice one from CC.

I am not sure that it still holds 12. With the clamshell seat gone, the seat behind the passenger captains chair looks pretty small. I bet one seat is lost. Sorry the pictures don't show quite enough of the interior.

Jeffsv211 - I sent you a quick PM with your pictures - hope it worked. If not, give me a quick reply and I will try again - I am still new at using all of the gismos on the site.

Something else new on the '05 226 are the stainless steel cup holder inserts, at least I have never seen them before. If you look at the pictures above, the front area and rear area cup holders are stainless. The drivers side and pasenger cup holders are black plastic - why? I do not know.
