I have not started my boat since last year, and now it will not crank.. ignition turns on, but no engine cranking, and the engine hour meter reads zero hours. All of the gauges work as normal, except engine hours, and the motor does not turn over when the start button is pressed... any thoughts?

What does your battery voltage say with a multimeter?the WakeSlayer

Have you checked the battery?
I started the season with a similar problem. The battery was dead so i charged it for a couple of days. The multi meter read 12.6 volts so i figured the battery was good to go.. Engine still would not crank. I switched to a known good battery out of another toy... and it started right up.. I would try swithing to another battery just to rule it out. I have seen some strange issues with batteries such as loose plates/ dead cells etc... and the gauge will trick you into thinking that the battery is good.. Plenty of volts and very little cranking amps.. just a thoughtOriginally posted by RyanATX View PostI have not started my boat since last year, and now it will not crank.. ignition turns on, but no engine cranking, and the engine hour meter reads zero hours. The lanyard does not keep the engine from cranking. It shuts off the fuel supply. The engine will spin with the lanyard pulled.Originally posted by MattieK27 View PostThis doesnt explain the hour meter, but have you looked at the throttle kill switch? I have seen a few people spend a lot of time trying to figure out why their boat wont start, and the whole time it was the kill switch.the WakeSlayer
