    Boat title isuue

    Hi all

Bought a 2007 236 TE Demo in September (cash) from an official dealer. I never received the reg/title and I find out now that the dealer (HQ Marine) like others is on the outs with GE Financial (and CC) and will no longer be a CC dealer. I am told that GE has the MSO and that a shortfall between dealer and GE is to blame, but should be resolved in "7 to 10 days".

Luckily I have the boat which I bought in a good faith transaction from the dealer but was unaware of their problems, and frankly since I paid cash to the dealer it essentially seems to me to be a fraud that the dealer sold me a boat with MSO held elsewhere.

Considering filing a consumer fraud complaint in NC but the owner seemed believable and wanted to help, but I don't want to have GE coming and asking for "their" boat back.

Emails to regional CC rep unanswered

    Suggestions?

I would call your state's attorney general's office and solicit some advice from them. I know in Texas, I've had an issue on something similar before and they were very helpful in getting it resolved.

I got in touch with the regional CC Rep. Still might get the NC AG involved.

            Boat title issue

Well, my lawyer senses are telling me to go obtain counsel and drop the hammer on this guy. If you paid cash for the boat, you should have been provided the MSO at or immediately after the sale.

            Good luck.

Let me know if you need help obtaining a good attorney in NC.

Make a call to your local District Attorney. No sense in having to pay for an attorney when they will handle this for you.
I am all to familiar with similar incidents and unfortunately they do happen in auto and marine businesses.
You paid cash, the dealer then repays their finance company and the tittle (MSO) is released. It is just that simple.

Good news. Sammy Roberts the CC regional guy tracked down the MSO and I subsequently heard from the HQ people that they processed it and sent it to the SC DNR so I should get the title shortly. Thanks for the suggestions and offers of assistance. While this should not have happened, I am satisfied with the response I got from HQ and Tony Quinn there was very helpful and honest. It is unfortunate what they have been put thru by GE Finance. I will post again of I dont get the title/reg in the next few weeks.

Hollywood - It might not be that the boat was financed individually as a cash transaction, or it might. It was PROBABLY part of a floorplan where the GE finance guys held all titles until sold, but there was a guy here in Ohio that was taking the individual titles to banks and getting cash to run the business, then paying the lien off at sale and getting the titles back... Tricky business that, and a good sign you have cash management problems. I would hope that it's the former and not the latter.

I still cant believe the response from CC . On other brand forums I read nothing but horror stories about warranty and other issues with very few happy endings. I almost bought a MC I think my guardian Angle worked overtime to steer me to Nautique.

The quick response by CC and their vendors . Nobody is perfect and sometimes things go wrong but without a doubt CC goes way beyond the call of duty to resolve problems. No wonder there is such good brand loyalty . Other brands try to blow off the problem untill the owner finality makes it public. Only then is the problem resolved. I NEVER see that happen here with CC. I just bought my 1st CC a year ago the boat has exceeded every expectations in every way. That includes the dealer[Dockside Marine] that sold it to me.
