Not the best photo, but I took this of the 200 with a tower. I didn't like the it very much (the boat was beautiful though), and for the amount I board, I'd use a Fly-High.

Would a tower affect the handling at all on a 196? I wouldn't consider one for my boat, I'm just curious. On my lake, we call the Prostars with towers Tubestars:-)

Not really relevant, but I had a female pro wakeboarder ride behind my '08 196. We stuck one 200# guy in the back. Used the hydrogate. No tower. She did big air flips one after another. I'm not discounting the effects of a tower, but it's just like skiing - equipment is one thing, but real talent is where it's at.

Somewhere there is a video of a pro boarder doing flips behind a Solo - one of those self-propelled ski tow things. No wake, no tower.

IMO, while that tower is fugly, it could be made passable wif it was painted the right color.

                Dave-

You are 100% correct. I used to do flips on the wakeboard behind a hydrodyne with 140HP outboard.

Its all about technique. Unfortunately, most people won't take the time to learn.

I don't mind towers on open bows, extended pylons for closed bows.

Like the 200 but hate the tower...

I like that black/white much better than the three color. As for the tower, the quick relase foward fold was a neat feature especially if you store on a covered lift.

That tower on the 200 is exactly what I'm NOT talking about. It's too big. I'm talking something smaller that carries the windshield lines with it. Even the conventional FCT would be too big in my opinion. Not only that, but that tower sure looks like it'd interfere with a 35off and shorter skier.

I'd talk to New Dimension towers. I bet they would make one to your specs. Nice guy.
