i just installed stargazer from scratch. nothing to it. i have an 01 super sport so we ran the wires up the driver side gunnel. the whole install should take 30-40 minutes. i put the puck and the master module behind my dash pod. works great, dont see a thing.
mnsuperair, i dont know about the surging. i guess i would adjust the kdw setting. stargazer still has a kdw setting, but thats all. i had to adjust mine up 2 hits and its holding speed withing .2-.3 either way, with 1700# + 4-5 people. SG might help. the one thing i could think of is the fact that is actual speed over ground, it might not surge as bad when cutting. your PP might surge because of the paddle wheel location and uneven flow when the boat is getting pulled to one side. PP may be sending a 'false' increase/decrease in speed and then trying to compensate. long story short, maybe SG will help. new prop would help also but i would imagine you probably have that covered.
and i dealt directly with perfect pass. great folks and excellent service. received the parts to raleigh nc literally next day.

I purchased mine from MC of Charlotte (with the Nautique gauge). Mike has always been able to get me and others very good deals on this kind of thing. There's someone on the MC forum selling the upgrade for $275 or so (check the marketplace). I know these aren't CC sources, but they are good deals.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

We are running a short set-up four ball course on a private lake for the winter. To get 34 and 36 before the gates, I have to throttle hard. As soon as I get the beep, I start slowly pulling back on the throttle (about 1 1/2 inches in my case). This eliminated the surging also on our 6 ball course.
Does it still have the variables for 1 ball, 3 ball, etc.?
Any other improvements?
Did you order it direct from Perfect Pass?1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

Don't mean to highjack this thread but as it is part of the subject, I though I would ask the question.
Going through the StarGazer manual I read that the crew weight has to be entered into the system when using auto/gps mode (while in the slalom mode). Is this correct? Other than the speed, are there any other settings that one needs to enter while using auto/gps mode (slalom)?
