It has nothing to do with performance. I was just at CC East and was told that it's because the decks of the 196 etc are all 1 continuous piece so they can paint them at 1 time. The V drives can not be painted the same.'18 SAN 210 Reef Blue/Admiral Blue Metal Flake

my point, exactly.Originally posted by tdc_wormi would be interested to know what the technical/engineering reasoning is. i have been a lurker/poster for a while a long time and have yet to read a post or explanation of how a colored deck negatively/adversely affects the performance of a vessel. so, giving them their due credit, what in God's name is their reasoning?Originally posted by ErikWrong. Color striping is available on the decks of the v-drives and the technical/engineering reason for why it stops where it does has been posted here before. It's not because it didn't *occur* to them. Give the designers & engineers some credit for God's sake. They've heard the wishes for colored decks and answered with a solution.Originally posted by saceoneno colored decks on a 85K$ boat. ? darn.

Is it me, or is there a problem with build a boat. I select what appears to be fury red for platform and top stripe, yet it says canyon mist, which it isn't. This was on a 230. Anyone else have this problem? Also when I am done building and print it out, there are other errors on color selection.
Not trying to be critical, just pointing out what appear to be errors, which I guess are expected on a new site.2015 G23

I know this sounds crazy, but try closing your web browser, and then going back to it. It works sometimes. Good luck!!!

Okay, on the 196, when you pick the accent piping and you scroll over what you think is fury red (not patriot red), what does it say above the words "platform color"? I see canyon mist and it should say fury red. I know I am not color blind!!!2015 G23

Also, in the "What's new", why not point out the 409 hp!!! Surely it is more important than "soft coaming boxes". At least to me it is. That ZR-6 is a fine engine
Again, awesome website. Kudos to CC for getting it out.2015 G23

I just got off the phone with their marketing person as I had questions about the TE options as well. She said she is still in the process of updating everything. She was busy at the surf show.'18 SAN 210 Reef Blue/Admiral Blue Metal Flake

they dont paint these boats. they apply gel coat to a mold then fiberglass over it. i just went out and looked at the decks of both my 220 and my 230. above the rub rail, they are one piece. the 230 has a separate piece that helps to form the rear sun deck, but the 220 is a one piece job, so that nixes the multipiece argument. either way, assuming that colored gel coat is applied in the same manner as white gel (i.e. sprayed or painted), then it doesnt matter how many pieces you have, you still have to apply gel coat.Originally posted by tmbIt has nothing to do with performance. if we are to believe that CC designs and builds a superior product, then how can the other lesser manufacturers crank out colored top decks while CC can only figure it out for direct drives?
one final thought: surely it must take more work to tape off a stripe for a top deck on a v drive then to just shoot the whole thing with one color.
