Change - for better or for worse

I read the interview with Bill and he mentioned a few things about thoroughly evaluating ideas, features, changes, etc. before implementing them. Also, in light of the new 216V that appears to be significantly different than previous CC boats...and needless to say...the new tower option. With these things in mind, there appears to be some apprehension to change for both CC and some owners.

The question that I have is this...is there anything that CC has "changed" or introduced from one year to the other that has not turned out to be better or more functional or an improvement?

Along those same lines, is there any feature from late model nautiques that is no longer available, but that you just absolutely love/loved?

RE: Change - for better or for worse

I'm not a fan of composite platforms, but I'm probably in the minority.
I don't like wraparound windshield on water sport boats. I want to be able to reach may arm out to a dock, or to talk with my skier/boarder without going up above a windshield.
I don't like swivel seats in a water sports boat, but then again, I'm probably in the minority.
I like the 2nd gen FCT. Very functional, and in my mind just looks like a Correct Craft. I don't care for the newest towers.
Many of the electronics in the boat turn out to be failures. Electronics and water just don't mix well. But, that's what consumers want.
I also don't care for the dash on the newest boats, but again, that's probably just a personal style thing, not a functionality issue.
I liked the bow covers for open bows and was disappointed when they were removed.
The movable and reverse seating doesn't do much for me, but I know that seating has been well recieved in the market.

On the positive side, I never thought I would like the stern walkthrough, as with the 211, but after spending time in them, I like it. Triple hatch on Vdrives was big improvement. Tunable rudders, tower mounted mirrors, and swivel boardracks were great improvements. Ballast systems have continued to improve. Popup cleats are convenient. True walk through bows were a big improvement in 99. I also liked that dashes matched the hull color beginning in 99, instead of black in previous models.

Regardless, still my favorite tow boats, and I'm sticking with CCs. BKH

I really miss the belly ski storage in my 99 Sport. Probably the most missed item on my new boat currently. To be able to get 2 to 3 pairs of combo skis out of the way was really taken for granted by me.

Love the pop up white light on the new 07. Instead of the loose pole light that went into the stern on my 99.

Love the flip up seat....not sure when that was brought about...but I like it.

Love the keyless ignition....took me a bit to get used to it...but I am a big fan now.

Seems like the glove compartment was much bigger on my 99. Might be my imagination. But with everyone now carrying cell phones and Ipods and such...a bigger compartment would be nice.

Not a big fan of how the flip up passenger seat in my 07 216 rubs the grip handle.

Lastly.....for me, the jury is still out on the composite platform and the spinning racks.

BKH - I had to do some wheelin and deelin to get a teak platform on my 2006 210 (no longer an option after 2005)- all nautiques should have some teak!

I love my electric latches on my 2002 210. Every time I'm on another boat I hate using the twist latches to open the rear storage lockers.

Yeah, I was going to mention the electric latches too. My 2003 had them, and they were cool!

Ditto. Loved 'em on my 02. Never had a problem with them. I was told they were a constant item that had to be repaired.
