Looking for a V-Drive that will still ski well

I am looking for a V-drive boat that will still put out a decent wake for skiing. I ski 36mph, and can get into 22' off. Not looking to break any records, but would still like to ski the course while also providing a wake for wakeboarding and surfing as well as the room for the family.

I think I'm interested in the 2001 Super Sport or Air Nautique, thoughts? I have never skied behind one of these.

Also, does anyone know of a similar boat for sale? Around the 23k range?

    Thanks,

    Luke

In Nautique the SV 211 is the boat , be hard to find one at the 23 k range tho. Hate to say it but at the 23k range a 1999-2002 Mastercraft X Star/205v is the ticket. Drives like a direct drive, handles the course no problem. It has flat hull at the transom so at the ski speeds it's one of the better V drives in the course. It's still narrow like an older comp boat and drives like a Ferrari. Add in some weight and you have pro caliber wakeboard wake as well.

I doubt you will get to 22 off behind a Supersport... Not without going out the front when you hit the wake...

If you can come up about $8K or so, I agree that the 211 is the boat you want. White Lake has a nice one right now.

May be a terrible question, but I've just never skied behind one. How bad is the wake skiing behind a 2001 Super Air Nautique 210?

            Thanks for all the input.

I ski behind a SSN210... and at 34-36 is not BAD..... easy to get up.... but I would rather ski behind my dad's 190 Cobalt I/O (6.0 motor helps out of the hole some....)

If your a 50% Ski and 50% board.... look at other boats.

I was wanting to sell my SSN210 and get into a SV211 or DD but never got it sold. I think I will stick with this until kids get older and see if they want to get SKI or Board, little more cash.... and look for a 200V.

                hello lukeaandrew,

i own a 2005 SV211 and absolutely love it,and we do exactly like you except i ski at 31-32@21 off.....my son wakes and both kids surf....the SV211 is not excellent at anything, but is very good at everything...plus the wife loves it to cruise around or go to the beach.

Now i guess you are in North Carolina, this may be a bit of a drive but could be worth your time....now is the perfect time for you guys since our dollar is at all time record lows....it is definately a buyers market for you guys..

have a look at this link, this is the dealer where i bought mine and the service is EXCELLENT!!!! right now they do now show a price, but last year it was listen at 24k can$....so this would fall in your price range by all means...

a bit of a drive, but could be worth it

I am in the same "boat" as as Luke. My brothers and I like to Ski but we are not looking to break any records; just not any bones going up against a big wake. We have kids just learning to ski and that will probably wish to Wakeboard down the road. Is there a particular year of the SV211 we should be considering and why? Looking to spend around 30K max if possible. I am located in SF Bay area. Thanks, love these forums; tons of great info and appreciate the help. Thanks, Rich

Not much difference through the years except 06 or 07 was the year it transitioned prop rotation direction. 07 and later pulls to the right when you're backing (driver side) and 04-05 pulls to the left. Can't remember what 06 does. Not a deal breaker but I like it pulling to the right.

I would certainly be interested in this SV211. Forgive me, I don't know much about Quebec, would this have been mainly used in salt water? I can't read the posting to see if it mentions it anywhere.
