    Searching for a boat!

    Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and wake boat ownership as well. I have always kept an eye on this forum over the years and I really respect yalls input and knowledge. I am looking for a v-drive boat in the 20k-25k range. I am mainly interested in early Malibu Wakesetters (2001-2003), Nautiques (2001-2002), and Supra Launch SSV (2003-2004), but I am open to good deals. I have thoroughly searched Craigslist, Boattrader, and OnlyInboards, but I have not much luck. I am located in Nashville and I would appreciate it if anyone knows of any for sale or have any trade-in boats to let know. I have cash in hand for the right boat. I look forward to hearing yalls input. Thanks.

Try here: http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skii...gory=Comp_Boat, and at www.correctcraftfan.com. Both have a large numberr of boats in your price range. You could also try wakeworld. Good luck.

I grew up wakeboarding and surfing behind my dads Tige 22v Rider Edition. However, this is my 1st wake boat to own myself but I am an experienced rider. I loved that boat, but now my main concern is finding a well taken care of boat that I can pay cash for. Price range being 20-25k.

What did you like and dislike about the Tige? That could help us steer you in the right direction of the boats you mentioned. I would throw in Centurion Avalanche as well into the mix. Very well put together boat should be able to find in your price range.

How many people are normally out on your boat?

The Wakesetter is going to have the most storage and space inside of the boats you listed. The Nautique 210 is going to have the least storage and space. Flip side. The Nautique will require the least amount of ballast to get the wakes kicking. Hands down I think if you're a pure wakeboarder and only concerned about wake the only two boats you should be searching for are the Nautique 210 and the Mastercraft X-Star(99-2003)/205v (any year ). Both the Xstar and 205v are identical. Which also leads me to this. The Wakesetter VLX has a counterpart of the Sunsetter VLX, and the Super Air 210 has its counterpart of the Nautique Super Sport. So you can open up your search on that .

The Supra SSV of that era is a roomy boat. I have at least 4 buddies who still own theirs and another who bought one last summer. It is just a level below those others in quality and you can tell when you get in it. It "rattles" just a bit with loose screws and what not. Still a fine machine but it's defintely on a different level. However you may be able to find the "newest" model for your dough.

The Avalanche is a beast. Will surf the best if surfing is on your plate. Handles rough water extremely well, and the wakeboard wake is very steep. It's right in between the 210 and the Xstar. It will give you the most boat for your $$ of those listed.

Again give us some idea of how many people are on the boat, breakdown of percentages wakeboarding/surfing/hanging out, do you live on lake and just take it out to board? Or is it a boat you're gonna tow longer distance to spend and entire day lounging and packed with gear. These are all things to consider. Quite honestly though of the boats you listed all produce an acknowledgeable wake that won't let anyone down. If you do find something jump on it. 20-25k CLEAN WAKEBOATS DO NOT LAST PERIOD.

Jeff, for some reason bschneider4's posts don't show up on Tapatalk (I do see it on the PN website, though). Not sure if anybody else is experiencing this and I have not seen it before

Awesome responses. I will check out some of those boats listed. Yes, I live on the lake, so towing is not a problem. I am newly wed and just out of college a few years ago. My main concerns are a good, clean, reliable wake boat that throws a good wake. I am open to all the boats listed but I would like to find one for sale on a forum like this because I tend to think they are "babied" and more taken care of. I did like the Tige they just seem harder to find, I thought it was a great boat.

Thanks for all the replies! I have now had two boats sold out form under me. Finding a good boat and a trustworthy person can be very stressful!! Hopefully the market gets flooded soon, as there is not much available now!!

That sounds like a great boat, but it is a little out of my price range. I am looking to stay around 21-25k but I do have cash ready when the right boat becomes available. The market is really "slim pickins" right now.
