1994 Sport Nautique with a PCM 5.8L (351w) V8 engine. Classic direct drive ski boat, but with a very comfortable open bow for more space.
This boat is ready to hit the water today. I took it out a few times this season already. Can start it up in the driveway and let you hear it run. Willing to drop it in at Lake Stevens if you’re serious.
Mechanically it’s been pretty meticulously maintained over my ownership (4 years and 130 hours). Only has 570 hours on it now, so it’s had a very gentle life. Always winterized.
I’ve had an absolute blast with this the past 4 years. Tubing, Skiing, Wakeboarding, and Surfing. It truly does it all.
Most fun trip I’ve ever had was taking it on the Columbia river and camping for a few days with it (drone pictures). Have also brought it up Lake Chelan to Stehekin and camped up there. It’s been on Lake Washington, Lake Sammamish, Lake Stevens (majority), and bought it from a guy in Bonney Lake. It’s been well enjoyed, but also very well maintained.
Some of the perks:
- Flight control tower with 4 big ol speakers
- Really loud stereo system with amp and bluetooth radio
- Heater for those cold days
- Perfect Pass aka Cruise Control (probably the best upgrade that most boats this age don’t have)
Mechanically - Needs nothing
Annually
- Oil change
- Oil and Fuel Filters
- Spark Plugs
- Raw water pump
Service within my ownership
- New Plug Wires, Cap, and Rotor
- New Alternator
- Carburetor Rebuild
- New shaft packings on rudder and drive shaft
- New Cutlass Bearing
- New Steering System (incredibly smooth)
- New seat cushions in a couple places where they were torn. Rear bench and viewer seat. Some photos are of the new cushions, others are the old.
Trailer - tows great.
- New brakes drums, cylinders, pads, and fluid flushed last year.
- Lights need a bit of work, I’ve just used magnetic lights. But might fix it before someone buys. Or will throw in the magnetic lights.
Things it could benefit from (being 30 years old)
- Could use some elbow grease on the fiberglass to really make it shine
- Some upholstery is stained
- The dashboard is a little worn out, so could use some bigger fasteners in places.
As you can see I love this boat, so much so that I recently got a newer version of pretty much the same boat that needs work so focusing on that.
