2003 SAN210 light question
How do you turn on the lights to all the engine instrument gauges? Do you have to have the engine running for them to be on? Also what are courtesy lights? I know I don’t have docking lights but not sure about courtesy lights. When I press this button the light on the button comes on but no other lights in the boat change.

Thanks A&B

Out of the owners manual:

Courtesy / Docking Lights
A quick press and release of this button turns on the courtesy lights,
and the indicator light for this button will illuminate. A press and
slight hold turns on the indicator light and the docking lights. Both
the courtesy and docking lights can be turned on at the same time,
but only if the courtesy lights are turned on first.

Navigation / Anchor Light
A quick press and release of this button turns on the navigation
lights, and the indicator light for this button will illuminate. A press
and slight hold will only turn on the anchor light and cause the
indicator light to flash. A press and release of the key turns off both
of the lights.

The gauge lights should come on when you turn on the navigation lights. That's the only time they should come on. The engine should not have to be running. Their brightness is adjustable though. Is it possible that yours are adjusted all the way dim? With the navigation lights on, press the up arrow on the tach. That should brighten the gauge lights.

The courtesy lights are positioned in the rear storage compartments, under the observer's seat, and under the sides of the boat. They're small lights, so you probably won't notice them unless it is dark.

Thanks for the response. I just went out and checked and with the nav. lights on I have lights in the ballast tank gauges in the panel below the throttle but no lights in any of the gauges on the dash. I tried the up arrow on the tach. but still no lights. Maybe there is a wire that’s not hooked up or came lose since all of them are not working? Also I found the courtesy lights, thanks; wish there were some up in the front seating area.

I would bet that a wire has come loose under your dash. I wish I had a wiring diagram to post, but I don't have one for the newer boats. Maybe someone else can enlighten both of us on this subject. I'd like to know which wire it is too. My dash lights have flickered a couple of times, so I bet mine is getting ready to do the same thing as yours.

check the faria box in the back of the boat there should be a blue wire going into onr of the plugs. make shure you have power at that point because the box uses this as a signal to turn on the lights on the dash, but the lights in the ballast gauges are powered off of the greyhill box.

nms1991 is right, at the Faria Gateway box on the inside transom you will see a 12 pin plug next to the starboard pick-up hose. This should have one blue wire pluged into pin #3 of the 12 pin plug and when nav lights are on and the plug is plugged in you should have 12 volts on that wire. A good sign that it is the gateway box is your ballast lights are turning on.

Also if you ever want docking lights added later the wiring for the lights are already there.

It’s fixed! The plug you are referring to was not seated all the way. Pushed it in and felt it snap into place. Presto dash lights. Thanks for all the help.
