Here it is on the trailer. It seems so hard to take time on the water to take shots. Here is one of our guys riding. How come it always seems that no one takes pictures of the owner riding??

Jeffk - nice boat, I need to post some pics of mine as well, just never gotten around to taking the pics because we are always riding....
question - did you flip the tower speakers, do you like? I was thinking about flipping mine as well, only downside is that the nautique logo on the cans would be upside down.

Yep they are flipped. No more headaches. I don't even think about walking around anymore. The logos can't be flipped they are crimped on I believe. I just flipped the speaker covers and don't worry about the logo. I am the same way about riding we never seem to stop and take shots but I just washed the boat and had the camera to take shots of Bud's riding so I took these. That shot of Bud he is still rising on that Raley and takes it out about 15-18 feet in the flats and lands blind. He never falls and rains on everything. Lots of fun to watch.

Very nice man! What lakes around there still have water in them? Everything's empty around here.

Larry, We are still riding at Lake Palestine. It's low but still works. I am still wanting to go to Longview and check out Brady Branch this winter, also Martin Lake.

The pics look great! Do you have any with someone slalom skiing behind the 211? I wonder how flat the wake gets when you want to do a course.
Thanks.

Jeff,
I went to Brandy Branch (also called Perkey) yesterday. They have shut down the power plant sometime between Friday and yesterday and the water has already cooled 10 degrees (74). I'm going to call out there and see when it'll be going again to heat that water back up! hehe.
Martin Creek is WAY to low to get a boat in right now. I fly over it all the time and the water line is probably 30 feet below the bottom of the ramp. It's in bad shape.

So perkey has enough water in it? I have been wanting to go over there for years!!!!

Perkey is a great spot, especially in early March. As an alternative to calling them, you can usually see the plant exhaust from I-20 when things are up and running.

Doug, how have you been. Just curious if you know the number to perkey so we don't have to drive over if it is not running. Shannon seams to think they shut it down in December or January. He was going over there and riding with Loren Loe I believe. Give me a shot and we'll go ride.

It was shut down last winter, but because a generator was out... whoever calls first, post the answer and then we'll know! I'm in class right now, I'll do it when I get out. hehe.

They are shut down until Tuesday. They sounded like this is the only shut down for this winter, but they would shut down if more "maintenance" is needed. Hopefully this is the only shutdown for this winter. If so I will be looking forward to tearing up the warm water all winter. That is why I installed a heater. Anyone that wants to go is welcome. Saturdays-Mondays and if it is a great day maybe during the week. Nothing like water temp in the 70's during the winter.

Jeff, I'm sure I'll be in touch. None of my usual crew (wife and kiddo) are up for anything once the cold sets in for good. So my boat is usually buttoned up for winter by mid November (save for that first gorgeous day in January/February). Drop me a line when you guys start heading that direction.

I've been well. Not getting on the water much, but hoping to change that soon. Perkey has always been running when we want to use it, but we've not bothered to try it during the relatively colder months (see post above about my crew's feelings regarding cold weather).
Funny you should mention Lauren Loe. Her parents have a nice place on the river. We used to watch her do some nice moves back when she lived here. Last I heard, she was in school in Florida.
Keep me posted if you head that way.

Isn't that how it works... the weekend I decide to start using it they shut it down. hehe. I've got my boat in the middle of an oil change right now... only to be put back together for some more early winter fun! hehe.
Oh! And the water temp should be in the 80s when the thing is going! hehe.

The temp is only in the 80s in and around the water intake for the plant unfortunately. It drops off a bit as you head toward the dam. Just don't fall or drop until you're back near the intake.

In the spring when the air temp was still pretty cool I hung out going up and down the exhaust side (the east leg, or the side the boat ramp is on). The only down fall to that is there is a good bit of sea weed stuff that comes up relatively high. I don't have a depth guage but I've never been able to find the bottom diving down or anything. When I fall I just try to keep my feet up so I don't get grass all over me. hehe.

I guess the intake side is in the Northwest corner of the lake. That's about the warmest spot I've found. About 20 yards from there, and the temp drops off pretty good. We always just start there, do a lap, and drop there if we can.

As depressing as it was, I put my boat to bed this weekend. We're going to be gone for the rest of the weekends in November, so I had to strike while the iron (and the outside temp) was hot. There's something so wrong about breaking a sweat while winterizing.
I may put it back together if we get a warm day in December though.

Dont feel bad...I did the deed too. I hate more than anything when this time of year comes. Four months of waiting.....

Yes, but without good reason. I just pick a day in November and do it so that I'll be sure to change the fluids, wax it, and charge the battery, etc. I don't bother with antifreeze and pull it out and run it about once a month in the off season anyway. We usually get teased with a really nice day in December/January, so it's more Fall maintenance than anything else.

Aint that the truth
