They are shut down until Tuesday. They sounded like this is the only shut down for this winter, but they would shut down if more "maintenance" is needed. Hopefully this is the only shutdown for this winter. If so I will be looking forward to tearing up the warm water all winter. That is why I installed a heater. Anyone that wants to go is welcome. Saturdays-Mondays and if it is a great day maybe during the week. Nothing like water temp in the 70's during the winter.

Jeff, I'm sure I'll be in touch. None of my usual crew (wife and kiddo) are up for anything once the cold sets in for good. So my boat is usually buttoned up for winter by mid November (save for that first gorgeous day in January/February). Drop me a line when you guys start heading that direction.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

I've been well. Not getting on the water much, but hoping to change that soon. Perkey has always been running when we want to use it, but we've not bothered to try it during the relatively colder months (see post above about my crew's feelings regarding cold weather).Originally posted by jeffkDoug, how have you been. Just curious if you know the number to perkey so we don't have to drive over if it is not running. Shannon seams to think they shut it down in December or January. He was going over there and riding with Loren Loe I believe. Give me a shot and we'll go ride.
Funny you should mention Lauren Loe. Her parents have a nice place on the river. We used to watch her do some nice moves back when she lived here. Last I heard, she was in school in Florida.
Keep me posted if you head that way.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

Isn't that how it works... the weekend I decide to start using it they shut it down. hehe. I've got my boat in the middle of an oil change right now... only to be put back together for some more early winter fun! hehe.Originally posted by jeffkThey are shut down until Tuesday. Oh! And the water temp should be in the 80s when the thing is going! hehe.2018 SAN 230

The temp is only in the 80s in and around the water intake for the plant unfortunately. It drops off a bit as you head toward the dam. Just don't fall or drop until you're back near the intake.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

In the spring when the air temp was still pretty cool I hung out going up and down the exhaust side (the east leg, or the side the boat ramp is on). The only down fall to that is there is a good bit of sea weed stuff that comes up relatively high. I don't have a depth guage but I've never been able to find the bottom diving down or anything. When I fall I just try to keep my feet up so I don't get grass all over me. hehe.Originally posted by east_tx_skierThe temp is only in the 80s in and around the water intake for the plant unfortunately. I guess the intake side is in the Northwest corner of the lake. That's about the warmest spot I've found. About 20 yards from there, and the temp drops off pretty good. We always just start there, do a lap, and drop there if we can.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

As depressing as it was, I put my boat to bed this weekend. We're going to be gone for the rest of the weekends in November, so I had to strike while the iron (and the outside temp) was hot. There's something so wrong about breaking a sweat while winterizing.
I may put it back together if we get a warm day in December though.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

Yes, but without good reason. I just pick a day in November and do it so that I'll be sure to change the fluids, wax it, and charge the battery, etc. I don't bother with antifreeze and pull it out and run it about once a month in the off season anyway. We usually get teased with a really nice day in December/January, so it's more Fall maintenance than anything else.Originally posted by HollywoodYou TX guys are winterized already?
