Orlando, FLA (April 18, 2012) – Nautique is proud to announce the 53rd Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament held May 25-27, 2012 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia, has been selected by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as an Operation Gold event for Slalom, Trick and Jump.

This is a prominent honor for the 53rd Masters. Operation Gold is a USOC program that rewards athletes for earning medals at elite level events. Operation Gold allows U.S. water ski athletes to earn money by placing in the top-four in their division/event.

"Only one tournament per year can be selected as an Operation Gold event, and it must be agreed upon by USA Water Ski and the USOC," commented Bob Crowley, executive director of USA Water Ski, the national governing body of organized water skiing in the United States. "This is the first time any event other than the Water Ski World Championships, Pan American Games or Pan American Water Ski Championships has been selected as an Operation Gold event. Being selected as the Operation Gold event in 2012 is a testament to the prestige of the Masters." Crowley added.

ORLANDO, FLA (April 16, 2012) — For the first time ever, anywhere in the world in a wakeboarding competition, a wake-to-wake 1080 was landed at the Nautique Wake Games this past weekend in Orlando, Florida. This never before achieved feat was made possible by the revolutionary wake of the new Super Air Nautique G23. Then, as if to prove it was not a fluke, a second wakeboarder landed the same trick again. From never happening before to happening twice in one day in the Super Air Nautique G23’s debut.

The Nautique Wake Games showcased the revolutionary wake of the Super Air Nautique G23 with the best wakeboard athletes in the world competing. Harley Clifford (Australia) was the first wakeboarder to land a wake-to-wake 1080 followed by Oli Derome (Canada) who went out and stuck the second 1080 after Clifford. Fans went wild as they lined the shore and watched history go down behind the G23.

“It was amazing to watch history being made when two incredible athletes landed back-to-back 1080’s behind the revolutionary Super Air Nautique G23 this past weekend. This had never happened before so to see it happen twice in one day was amazing,” stated Nautique CEO Bill Yeargin. “Only Nautique could produce a game-changing wake boat that has immediately redefined the industry standard,” Yeargin added.

I recently spent some time in Orlando with the team from Nautique checking out the new Super Air Nautique G23. It is an incredible boat! Bill Yeargin, Greg Meloon and Shaun Murray also recently took the time to answer some questions that PlanetNautique members had about the company, Nautique's future, and, of course, the G23! Below is a transcript of that interview.

Jeff Carroll: First, how are things at Nautique?

Bill Yeargin: Thanks for asking, Jeff, we are doing great.

The boating market in the US and Western Europe is still soft but we have a great business model and have adapted to the current conditions. We have been spending a lot of time developing the Nautique brand in international markets which has kept me and our international sales team on the road quite a bit. Our efforts have resulted in over 30 new international dealers which gives us representation in fifty-five countries.

We have also been investing heavily in product development, employee development and process improvement. No matter how good we are we want to be significantly better. We have an amazing company culture and are blessed to have the best dealers and employees in the industry, by far.
We are all excited about the future!

Jeff Carroll: Nautique executed an outstanding build-up to the release of this boat. I have never seen such buzz about a product in the watersports industry before. Did it go as you expected?

Bill Yeargin: Our marketing team did an outstanding job developing and executing the launch plan for the G23. I have had several people tell me that they have never seen anything like it in our industry. As I worked with our team on the launch I came to expect big things and our team delivered.
I know a lot of people have talked about the roll-out but there is one important point that is key to understanding why our team did such a great job planning and executing the product launch. They TRULY believed in this boat.

Jeff Carroll: Were you worried the hype was getting to be too much?

Bill Yeargin: No, I wasn’t. I knew the G23 was an amazing boat. However, I did have several industry friends ask me during the rollout if we were setting Nautique up for a fail by so dramatically building up expectations. Funny thing is that I heard the same comments during the rollouts of both the Ski Nautique 200 and the Sport Nautique 200. Those boats both delivered and I knew the G23 would too.
Greg: Our focus was to build a great product and then tell the world about it. The Super Air Nautique G23 is worthy of all the hype!!

ORLANDO, FLA (March 31, 2012) — Nautique is excited to introduce the next generation wake boat that will forever change what the industry thought possible. The all-new Super Air Nautique G23 redefines what a wake boat can be.

Nautique’s designers, engineers and elite team of professional riders started with a clean slate and created a wake that gives every rider the opportunity to do things they only dreamed possible. The G23 features the all-new Nautique Configurable Running Surface (NCRS) which fine-tunes the hull surface under any condition using the latest technology in our Nautique LINC system. Every inch of the boat’s hull was designed to create a wake that will work for every level of riding, at any speed and line length without sacrificing a clean lip, long transitions and solid pop. Additionally, with over 2,800 lbs. of sub-floor internal ballast, the G23 offers you maximum ballast with maximum storage and a world class wake without the need for additional weight.

The styling and craftsmanship that has gone into designing the interior of this boat is unlike anything that has come before it. From the ergonomics of the seats to the functionality of the seating configurations, no stone was left unturned in designing every aspect of the fit and finish. The long list of new, innovative features in the G23 includes integrated, custom-designed navigation and docking light arrays with LED lights; unique bow design offering deep, comfortable seating; removable, in-floor transom cooler; the stylish, functional Flight Control Tower, dynamic, aggressive hull-side graphics and gel-coat pattern; reversible stern seat with convenient slide mechanism; signature Nau-Teak flooring throughout the boat; and much more. Plus, with more storage and seating options than any preceding Nautique model, the G23 is large enough to easily accommodate all of your friends and family for a day of fun on the lake.

“The revolutionary new Super Air Nautique G23 is a result of years of hard work by our elite team of athletes and Product Development team. The G23 will advance the wake industry in ways far beyond what anyone thought possible,” stated Nautique CEO Bill Yeargin. “Only Nautique, the company who brought the industry the first inboard towboat, the boat tower, internal ballast, GPS speed control and many other firsts could build a boat this innovative,” Yeargin added.

The Super Air Nautique G23 will kick off the wake season at the 2012 Nautique Wake Games in Orlando, FL, April 11-14.
