    California ProAm Delivers

    Official Nautique Press Release:
ORLANDO, FL (September 1, 2026) - The 24th annual California ProAm delivered a weekend of exceptional performances on Shortline Lake in Elk Grove, California, as the third stop of the inaugural Nautique Water Ski World Series built on its momentum with record-setting performances, closely contested battles, and a historic Pro Men Trick podium.

Team Nautique athlete Regina Jaquess (USA) continued her dominant run through the Nautique Water Ski World Series, claiming her third consecutive victory in Pro Women Slalom. Jaquess has now won all three Pro Women Slalom events in the series and sits atop the standings with a perfect 300 points.

Jaquess set the tone for the weekend during the qualifying round, skiing 4 @ 41 off (10.25m) – just a half buoy shy of the current World Record – while setting a new course record at Shortline Lake.

“I’m so excited to take my 11th win at the California ProAm and third consecutive win of the Nautique Water Ski World Series!” said Team Nautique athlete Regina Jaquess. “Each stop I have been able to get farther down the line at 41! I took a course record for the site and was close to breaking the world record with a score of 4 @ 41! Thank you Nautique Boats for such an amazing series and a boat that is getting me closer to that six ball at 41!”

17-year-old Cristhiana De Osma (PER) delivered an impressive performance of her own, finishing second in Pro Women Slalom with 4 @ 39.5 off (10.75m). This established both a new Pro and U21 Peruvian National Record, highlighting the depth of talent emerging in the sport.

In Open Women Trick, Team Nautique athlete Erika Lang (USA) took the top spot on the podium with an impressive 10,980 points in the final round, while fellow Team Nautique athlete Neilly Ross (CAN) finished second with 10,610 points. The result continues an exciting battle between Lang and Ross at the top of the Nautique Water Ski World Series standings. Ross currently leads the division with 270 points, just 10 points ahead of Lang, who has 260 points.

“I am so happy to have taken the win at the California Pro Am,” said Team Nautique athlete Erika Lang. “The site is absolutely beautiful and the wakes of the Ski Nautique provided consistent conditions all weekend long, allowing me to execute my tricks to my full ability.”

The Pro Men Trick division delivered one of the most historic moments of the weekend. Martin Labra (CHI) scored 12,940 points in both the second qualifying round and the final, establishing a pending Chilean National Record. His performance also earned him a spot in the prestigious Nautique Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament.

Adding to the significance of the result, all three athletes on the Pro Men Trick podium scored more than 12,900 points in the final – marking the highest-scoring podium finish in the history of the sport. The unprecedented result is a testament to the level of competition emerging throughout the inaugural Nautique Water Ski World Series and the unmatched performance of the Ski Nautique, which enables athletes to maximize every pass and perform at a level unlike anything seen before.

The California ProAm also showcased impressive performances across the Senior divisions. A special congratulations goes to tournament host Greg Badal, who claimed the Senior Men Slalom title with 3.5 @ 39.5 off (10.75m).

“The California ProAm has been a staple event in the waterski community for 24 years,” said Nautique President, Greg Meloon. “We are thrilled to include this storied event in the debut season of the Nautique Waterski World Series.”
