Adjust trailer bunk position- DIY?

My 2005 Nautique SV-211 has two ballast hull intake scoops that sit right above one of the custom-made trailer bunks. Unfortunately I live in SD and bought the boat from Florida so taking it back to the trailer manufacturer for adjustment isn’t an option. How hard of a job is it to move the inner trailer bunks to the side a bit so this isn’t an issue anymore? I’ve noticed the carpet is getting ripped in this area from the friction. To avoid further damage I’ve been putting the trailer in deep and just pulling the boat nearly all the way up the trailer with a rope/winch instead of driving it on. Worth bringing it into another shop close to home or DIY?

I've done a few trailer mods, and oftentimes it's not one and done. The problem that you're going to have if you move one bunk, you'll have to move all four to compensate for the geometry and alignment. It looks like your bunk struts are U-bolted to the frame, so that'll make it a little easier on you, you don't have to cut and weld. If you move one bunk two inches as an example, you'll have to do the same with the outside bunk, and then repeat on that opposite side. You can block and Jack to give you a few inches of clearance, but I think this is going to be a trip to the lake with the boat off the trailer, and let the games begin. Order some new bunk carpet while you are at it. I pack my generator, compressor and pneumatic staple gun to the lake, and find some shade. Good luck.
Also consider, when moving the bunks to the outside, this will drop your boat lower on the trailer, and to the inside visa versa.
