Options for stock speaker mounting in 1994 Ski Nautique

    Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade the stock speakers in my 1994 Ski Nautique. I would like to keep the original mesh speaker covers in place. I've included a picture below to show what I'm talking about.

Does anyone have any recommendations for speakers to achieve this? I'm looking to keep it below $100 a speaker if at all possible.

    Thanks,

You can browse Crutchfield for options and then shop based on price - here's their 6 1/2 marine options sorted low to high price.

I run four of these JBLs in the combing panels of my 2004 206. I'd say they are decent. Nothing bad to say; nothing exceptional either - https://www.crutchfield.com/p_109STA...e-6-White.html I can't recall if the tweeters are integrated into the grill or not...if they are, they may not work for you as I think you'll need to forego installing the factory grills to retain the cloth cover.

The challenge with any speaker in that location is they are open air backed so it's difficult to get any reasonable bass output. An amp and some polyester damping behind the speaker helps.
