My amp for my tower speakers quit so I am looking for some input . The currant set up is a Diamond D3400-2 2 channel powering 2 Fusion T series tower speakers. I don't want to get louder and don't want to break the bank with high end amps that will never be used to capacity . I am looking for a good brand 2 or 4 channel amp 400 watts or more and try to keep it under 200.00 if possible.

I have been running a planet audio AC800 800 watt 4 ch in my jeep for about a year now. It's on amazon prime for $66.62.

Basic rule of thumb when buying an amp is don't buy anything that doesn't include a RMS power rating and particularly that the rating in CEA-2006 Compliant. Any amp tat doesn't put out a real power rating is probably pretty low quality.Originally posted by Shawn Henderson View PostI have been running a planet audio AC800 800 watt 4 ch in my jeep for about a year now. As far as I can tell your speakers are 200W RMS and I'd guess 4ohm (but couldn't confirm). To stay in budget I'd just get a car amp. Should last years is kept dry.
I just picked up a NVX JAD800.4 which should be around $200. Bridged it will put out 400W per channel at 4 ohms. Which should be plenty of power. If your speakers are 2 ohms it will put out 200W per channel, using only 2 of the available channels and the other two can be used to power your in boat speakers.
You won't get that kind of output from a marine amp unless you spend twice the money.

The polk marine PA series 4 chnl is the same ampOriginally posted by Blamey View Post

For a single pair of 4 ohm 6.5 coaxial, the Kicker KMA300.4 bridged 2 chnl is the way to go for both quality build, marine built and solid power.

Yes, it's the same design as the Polk. I don't believe it's exactly the same amp but they are clones of each other.
The Kicker doesn't meet the price or output the OP requested. Other then it being marine. Why do you think it's a better amp?

Very good questions, Blamey
Price: the Kicker at regular retail is only$50 above his price point. Factor some typical discounts, and one gets a decent marine amp close to his price point.
Output:, that "400 watt" diamond amp comes out to only 100W RMS per chnl to a pair of 4 ohm speakers (based on 2 sources). Thats 50W RMS less then the Kicker KMA300.4 I suggested.
Marine built, we covered
Class-D, so its way more efficient
