Ironically after all of the positive talk about the new head unit and improved reliability, I picked up my 2018 G23 on Friday. Each day I was out this weekend I had different issues with the stereo. First it just locked up and I had to shut the boat down completely and reboot.. The other times it kept dropping the BT connection. I traded in my 2015 210 with the old "bad" system and in 3 years never had any issues with connections. I guess better isn't always better. Despite the stereo issues this boat is really great.

I definitely need to do this. My Bluetooth lost connection so many times last weekend. Super annoying. And then once I switched to radio to at least see if that worked well my volume was full blast and when it kicked in and it sound d like a gun shot or a piston coming through the block! I’m amazed I didn’t blow the speakers altogether. Anyway, needless to say, after two weekends I am done with this Polk head unit. What garbage.

That's so weird. I don't really love the Polk PA4A but it hasn't given me any real trouble. The worst is when I forget to put my phone on Do Not Disturb and a call comes in. Usually once that happens, I can't get the Bluetooth music going again without a power off/on.

Maybe that’s what I need to do, just put on airplane mode and activate Bluetooth only.

Have you worked toward a resolution on your system issues? Just wondering if the dealer contacted Nautique to report the issues / installed any updates, etc.

It most certainly helps although I just use Do Not Disturb instead of Airplane mode. I started using DND mostly so when a text message came in it wouldn't pause the music for a couple of seconds every time. That was so annoying.

I accidentally found out an incoming phone call would somehow get the PA4A out of sync or something. Not every time, but most times I just couldn't get Bluetooth music going again after the call. Had to shut everything down and bring it back up to resolve the problem.

It works well. The zone control on the JL is different, for sure-but easy to get used to. I’m pleased.

Maybe I missed it, but what all needed to be done to make the head unit retrofit happen/work?
Can I get this head unit from another source or do I have to get it from Nautique. Do the off the shelf units work with LINC?

anymore info on this? my dealer is adding the sub, amp, and bow speakers. They are also adding underwater lights and will have to program LINC to make those function. I may as well have them add the JL head unit while they are there since they will have to program LINC to work with that

Nautique. Then I bought the JL splitter and RF remote online to add to the new head unit and new transom remote. Other brands like Alpine have offered these as well. They allow you to float behind the boat and adjust-for the ultimate in laziness. (If you have a Pebble watch synch'd up, you can use that as well, of course.)
