Hey guys. Ok, just bought a new Pioneer stereo to install in my 93 S.N. anyway, the head unit has two power wires the "red" which I know goes to the Accessory switch of ignition (or to an accessory fuse on the dash) and there is a "Yellow" wire that says provides a constant 12v to the unit. My question is do you guys connect the constant power wire, or just forget it? I don't want extra drain on my battery, when the boat isn't in use, but I know also that I lose any saved "memory" settings if I don't have the constant power connected. Any thoughts, pluses or minuses on connecting or not connecting it??

You want this unit to power up and play music, right? Then yes, you need to connect the yellow wire that feeds the unit its operating 12 volt. The red simply tells it to wake up.Originally posted by flyweed View Postthere is a "Yellow" wire that says provides a constant 12v to the unit. You will need to choose between MEM and a small power drain when the boat is not in use. Just note though, battery memory is not going to be a concern until month 5 or 6 of no use.
