An HLCD uses a larger tweeter diaphragm loaded into a compression chamber that is coupled to the smaller throat of a progressive horn flare. There are pros and cons but you cannot beat the output of an HLCD, and output is the main requirement if you intend to project to wake range.

          Hello Paxdad,
I saw you amp rack install pics and it is exactly what I want to do for my first 2006 nautique 206. My question is: how did you attach the amp rack to the boat? Did you screw it in? if so, what size screws did you use? I am a little hesitant to use screws as I don't want to puncture the hull.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
          Cheers

there are wood blocks glued or fiberglassed into the hull side where the amp rack attaches on every nautique i've done stereos one (a lot). you secure the plate by screwing into these blocks with at least two per block, one high, one low.
