RE: Need advice on where to put another sub on a 220 san
I dont know how much different the 08 is vs. the 06 but I just put a thin profile JL w5 13 under the drivers side dash with a JL 500x1 and it slams! It works perfect because there is not much room under the dash, but the w5 only requires 0.6 cf of air space, the the box can be small. My buddy has a w7 in his closed bow and my w5 puts way more bass in the cabin than his...Just a thought

I also was thinking of putting a W5 in the same place. For now, I'm actually running the same 12W7 as BigGris in the same place, mine however is sealed. I'm also thinking maybe down the road to add a W5 in the same location.Originally posted by 220WakeriderI dont know how much different the 08 is vs. the 06 but I just put a thin profile JL w5 13 under the drivers side dash with a JL 500x1 and it slams! Not sure if theres' room in a 220, I put a 10" JL sub under the side dash; drivers side, under hand throttle (directly under ballast gauges on a 226)
You have to form the box to the countour of the boat to get every bit of air space you can get. Get some matching carpet, and it looks almost stock!
Its great for the driver too!

Yeah, your Jl12W7 isn't getting half of what its capable of. I did the numbers and my Kicker 750.1's birth sheet is putting out 934 watts. That W7 is probably getting between 400-600 watts if that since the sub is 3 ohms. I'm also going to be upgrading my amplifier in the near future from that 750.1 to a 1000.1. We'll see what a difference it makes. Keep us updated on your install.Originally posted by biggris79Im going to put the boston gt-28 on my sub right now and see how much more bass i get out of that i have the gt-24 right now i might look into put another sub under driver side dash i might do that w5 do u have any pics of this.i think tyhe 06 and 08 are the same

I'm sure that looks really clean. Unfortunately we don't have that kind of room in the 220's. Most of the room for subs is in passenger compartments, and one could construct a nice sealed enclosure in the drivers foot well, but accessing the fuse box/heater behind it might cause some issues. I suppose you could make the box movable in case any work needed to be performed back there. I'm a relatively tall guy so I like my leg room. :grin:Originally posted by JNot sure if theres' room in a 220, I put a 10" JL sub under the side dash; drivers side, under hand throttle (directly under ballast gauges on a 226)
