Delay In Sending Private Messages

Should there be a delay in sending a private message? I sent a PM and it was still in my Outbox after about 30 minutes or an hour. How long should it take to send one?

That's a common misunderstanding about how this site works. Private messages will stay in your outbox until the person that you sent the message to reads it. Once they read it, the message will move into your sent box. It is kind of a strange way of handling the messages, but that's what this site does. Don't worry. Your message was sent.
