I have been seeing these surf foils advertised? Any chance the industry will go through another major revolution with the impending death of surfing? Old direct drives with sports car handling will come back into fashion!

Looks a little deadly for me. I prefer not to take foils to the face

What history repeating? When wakeboarding started there was all kinds of moaning about how it would "kill off slalom skiing." Didn't happen. Now surfing is big and I hear about how it's "killing off wakeboarding." Nonsense. Both will be around.Originally posted by srock View PostHistory repeating

Agree. Surfing is very popular because it is less physically demanding than wake boarding/slalom and less risk of getting hurt. Let's face it, the price of boats has done more for surfing than anything. How many 20 or 30 somethings can afford 6 figure boats? Even the new SN starts at over $100k. It's us older guys in our 40s and 50s who can afford these boats. So until the price of wake boats come down (never gonna happen) surfing will be popular. The one caveat is if legislators start imposing laws on wake surfing because of big waves causing damage/shore erosion, etc.2007 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV, 1995 Cobalt 200

Agreed as well . The reason I purchased my G was because I had a bad accident slalom skiing on the course and can never ski again. After my accident , I really got into surfing because of the low risk and impact factors. Also like Evening Shade said, I’m in my 50s now hence the ability to purchase a 6 figure boatOriginally posted by Evening Shade View PostAgree.
