Hey bbc3.... Sorry for the wait been gone all weekend. I love my trip. I wouldn't ride anything else but LF. She cuts on a dime and the pop is like nothing else I've ever ridden. I've tried Neptune( are they in bizz anymore), Hyperlite, and Double up. I'm no professional by anymeans and being 36 yrs old this body doesn't recover well from bad falls. KGB's, Pete Rose's, etc. aren't in my trick book( and never will be). I can't imagine 04's would be any diff than and 01 other than graphics. I've compared rocker and width to an 03 and I couldn't tell any diff. The 6 fin set up makes the board track great and once you get used to it your never go back to a double fin set up. You can still do surface spins with it but just like any higherend board you can't get lazy or it WILL BITE you. It rides through chop great and on glass it's almost better than sex! (almost!) I can tell a big difference in ride from a standard board to the new wider board. My previous was a Best Board and I went through two of them. If you compared a trip to another make they all seem pretty much the same to me as far as width, rocker, and channeling. I'm sure a pro rider could tell a big difference but like I said to a twice a week boarder I prob couldn't. It seems to be a popular board here in GA on the south side of ATL because 3 of my Bud's all ride one and I've noticed quite a few more on the lake I ride on. Oh yeah, not to brag but was on the lake both Fri and Sat., Mid 70's, no clouds,no wind,no jet skiers/mosquito,s, nothing but net!If you can't do it in, on, or behind a Nautique..... It just ain't worth doing!
